Do you guys think HTAL should be implemented in MW:O just like it was back in MW2 thru MW4?

Paper doll for damage is not something i like seeing as a readout for damage.

But I would love to have a HTAL readout, what do you guys think?

There's no "I don't care" option.... honestly, I don't... whether the damage is displayed as HTAL system or with the "paper doll" system.. it's all good.. I think the paper doll system is a little more intuitive across the board... but in the end.. I don't care.

You could have just put down other, and since you explained why, that whould be enough.

And for the record.. I think that HTAL does look better.. just not as intuitve. :)

For those that don't know it's (H)ead, (T)orso, (A)rms, (L)egs

Other.

I think MW:LL does a pretty good job with damage readout. It has a unique hybrid between HTAL and paper doll that is very intuitive while providing accuracy.

MW4 alowd you to swap between doll and bars on the fly, no reason they cant do that in MWO, but i perfer the doll readout

depends. If easily coded and you can switch between styles?...fine

a little more code work..spend it on getting another mech choice up and running.

I think both are good but in a brawl it's way more user friendly to have a doll. All it requires is a quick look at your display and bam, you know what you "health" is. But I do think they should have both. There really is no reason why even if doll is far superior. HTAL does have a certain unique aesthetic to it which matches the traditional weapon select graphic and what not. I voted doll just because I'd rather see that if we can only have one (I would prefer both)

In a very slow, methodical single player game, when taking your time is possible, then I'd say HTAL would be better. However, from the gameplay trailers and such, this is going to be a bit faster-paced, so the graphic paper doll would be easier to keep an eye on while there is so much else going on on-screen already.

I hope they have an HTAL display option simply because the generic doll they use doesn't actually look like the 'Mech you're piloting. I can already tell it's going to annoy the hell out of me. If they made the doll 'Mech-specific, then it would be fine.

I'm also of the "I don't care" mindset. However if it's paper doll I'd rather it look like my mech, and I'm always down for options so choosing would what i want my mechs damage readout to be would be cool too.

HTAL all the way. Being accurately informed matters.

I remember MW4 letting you choose between the two, and after a while I settled on the HTAL readout as being much more useful. The doll is helpful for telling you when an arm is in danger of falling off, but it does a very poor job of informing tactical decisions like: "Can I afford to take another hit of X?" Once you get used to your mech, you start to get a sense of how much damage various attacks do as a fraction of your health bars. The level of precision on the doll's damage reports is much too low for that.

Or you could just go the MWLL route and display both at once...

i like the option of swapping readouts too. If i had to choose one or the other... HTAL i suppose, more accurate.

in MW4 you could change it on the fly independently for your health and and your targets. i preferred the paper doll for my health as it allowed me to get a good feel for my status at a glance. i preferred HTAL for my target as it allowed me to make a better tactical analysis of their capabilities and weak spots so i could efficiently slaughter the innocent... i mean dispatch my opponent. :) i would really like to see this level of choice implemented in the game, everyone plays MW a bit different and to truly capture the essence of the game for everyone these types of options, not just mech customization need to be available.

I liked it the other way around of Tyrial, as I liked being able to see exactly what my opponent's facing was to me and was obsessive about my own 'mech condition. Sometimes.

That said, I seen HTAL and thought "Wait, does he want HT&L to be optional!?"

Maybe the HTAL display can be a module you can buy? :)

Most of the novels describe a 'paper doll' type system for both your target's armor, and your own. So, for me, using the paper doll, is one step 'truer' to the lore.
