Because alpha striking is the only thing you can do! Because the stock build is the only build!

Silly monkey.

Ignoring the fact that after the rescale Nova seems to have become one of the most effective medium mechs in the game, you did the right thing by picking it up (even if it is just for selling it).

You should ALWAYS pick the clan mech, because for the c-bills you'll get you usually can get the other reward mech and still have some extra money leftover.
It's kind of hilarious.

The prime wasn't bad even before the size reduction. You just needed to move the rear armor to the front and drop a DHS for a targeting computer.

Of course you also had to be able to count to 1sec between firing 2 sets of 6 lasers. I can see where this causes problems for most MWO players.

I have 4 novas, they were pretty neat before the re-scaling because pretty much nobody payed much attention to them and after the re-scaling they are rather small.
Didn't need another one... particularly because the day before the event I got the crab Posted Image

Nova is an excellent mech now and you could have swapped omnipods to make any configuration you like.

6SPLs + 5MGs is excellent in scouting for example. 6SPLs + 6SPLs also works nicely.

*0.5s; but 1 sec is a good safety margin.

Still, yeah, given your average players' penchant for window licking, it is hard. It's not like you could bind one arm to each mouse button or something.

The nova is an Awesome mech. I am about the worst light and medium pilot in the game and even I can do ok with them (read: sometimes not die before I get a kill in).

Every now and then, I get sloppy with my heat management and fire discipline skills.

So I hop into a Nova to refresh my skills, where both of the above are not optional. Do, or do not. Do and kick ***, or do not and die horribly. :3

That's what I love most about the Nova.

I mean, you can run "safe" and good builds, like 6xMPL, but running 12xSPL or ERSL, you're an utter monster if you can keep a cool head and be careful. You WILL screw it up now and then, though, and firing that second blast a fraction of a second too soon is (quite literally) death. Not just "Oh no, I overheated, and people will be able to take pot shots at my motionless mech", but ~melted puddle of Nova~

It rewards skill, and that leads to really fun gameplay.

I just want one with 6x SRM2 per arm...is that too much to ask?

That would be so damned badass. 2xSRM24 bursts, firing tight and quickly... lol

Oh jeez. You didn't just get the Picard facepalm, the Sisko facepalm, or even the Triple facepalm. No. What you got is far worse. From arguably the worst Captain in a Star Trek series you got... THE JANEWAY FACEPALM! I feel really bad for you now.

I guess if someone feels bad for me, and since I don't, thus I can rest in peace. Master of pettiness over and out.

Know what the real face palm here is? I just bought a nova prime... With hard earned cbills

Is this event over? How does one simply win a nova? What must I do?
