Nimnul why do you even play MWO? I mean this game has its problems alright, so many problems (that aren't gonna be solved anytime soon) I dont even call it a good game, but more of a guilty pleasure in my case.
No melee, really I don't know why I do play this game...
You ran out ammo and there is nothing you can do about it..other online shooter figured out that btw
It feels too gladiatorial for me, and not so much like a war at all, one exception would be FP and the whole take down the giant cannon thing, everything else feels like a nonsense of an sport and not in the good old solaris 7 kinda way.
The game tries to stick with the lore but there is a lot of hit and miss.
The scale of many mechs is off.
Maps are too empty, even the last handful Mortal kombat tittles gave us a freaking war happening in the background of each fight, but here at MWO we get large spaces filled with nothing but our mechs.
No skins, like something crazy like what Anthem did (remember that game that almost was?) Where you got like texture on your armor not just colors and camo patterns.
Really wish there was like storms or some kinda weather phenomenon (these are alien worlds afterall) breaking out in these maps, even if it is like in the last part of the match maybe? or random? I think Battlefield 4(?) Did something like that, it was awesome and it changed the dynamics of the combat by adding new variables.
More destroyable environment and buildings like in Bad Company 2 would be nothing short of amazing.
You cant do proper shielding with arms, you have to do the torso twist nonsense.
Cant stretch arms to overcome the obvious disadvantages that come with arms stock at "holding pizza box" position.
I dont like how LRMs fly in this game, always in an arch even during direct fire, even Japanese cartoons from 50 years ago make missiles and rockets look cool and dangerous on fly.
No inferno missiles, lasers are still king.
All the mechs look (well most fo them to be fair) look like they were build in the same factory using the same parts not unlike legos, some mechs are supposed to be like that lore wise, but others are ancient designs, that should be reflected in the looks, amd in more than one way, I mean an atlas built 250 years ago wouldn't look the same as one built yesterday ...you know what I mean, it happens with some real life weapons, like the F-16 falcon.
MWO as of now it's pretty stale and it doesn't even cater to battletech fans.
Honestly, someone (else) will bring back the franchise into online gaming and get it right but it might take another 20 years.
Could be here all day.ranting but rather go and play a game that actually delivers and there are bunch of those out there, but for some dumb reason I will come back here, maybe dish some cash for a dozen or so mech bay if there is a sale.
