PGI.... UNDERSTAND THIS!
Here is how:
Have one of your employees (preferably the balancing overlord guy) make a new account without pumping it to the max with cbills and MC and have him play FW and QP for a month and then ask them for feedback!

I'm pretty sure Tina actually did this when CW3 rolled out, at least for a week or so. I can't be sure though.

So let me get this straight, teams/units/PGI want us to play FP. But rap3, or let, the hell out of the spawns? I played 3 games 2 of them were spawn rap3. Well no thanks, lesson learned. Mechs are dead before they hit the ground out of drop ships. Whats the point of that? Nice game building Russ. So when FP is dead except for the hard core KDR people, where will it be?

Lesson to learn here is;

Never, NEVER drop solo into a queue that is built primarily for Group and Units.

Never, NEVER, drop Trial decks.

Never, NEVER, bring your QP mentality to CW.

It took me a while to get the 10 invasion wins.

One of those though.......

Both sides load up, doesn't look too bad since both teams look fairly even. It's invasion though, and we are attacking so that's not a good sign.

We begin moving towards the gates, and a child's voice comes over the ingame VOIP. I don't remember what he/she said but my friend and I pretty much rolled our eyes. The player's unit name was like IAM7.

The map is emerald taiga, we open up both gates and are pretty much debating which gate to open. The kid says 'this gate' and goes in ALONE in a battlemaster. We rush in to assist.

We win the first wave because this kid is being super aggressive and taking the brunt of the enemy fire. He/she [i think he, but the kid was so young i don't dare guess the gender] quickly does a 180 away from the center and we follow around the right side and blast enemy mechs going for a flank.

Then he/she does it again, but we pretty much die. But we took down enough mechs that unless we derp things up pretty bad we're going to win.

Every wave was like this. We'd plead for the kid to give us a bit more time to get fresh dudes up to the gate, but he/she would go in and we'd be right behind.

So, a seven year old was leading the drop and we won. I wish I'd taken a screenshot. That kid is a hero in my book.

Couldn't start the event until yesterday but I've had fun so far.

Regarding spawn camping, we had an interesting match yesterday. We were defending a counter attack on Hellbore, set up for a beta push and then the enemy spawn rushed us through alpha gate. Their big mistake was not killing any of us first, so we responded by trading until we were 1 kill up and (2 vs 3) and then counter rushed THEIR spawn. So what happened was they farmed out 2 of our pugs while we farmed out 3 of their unit members. Since this left us up on kills 12 to 8 they now had to go back and attack their own spawn.

Not saying it's not silly, but you can definitely respond and beat spawn rush tactics.

I completed the event with the vast majority of my games played while on HK TS in some form of Kurita group or another. Attempting to pug up any matches was routinely terrible - can be a good way to run up your damage score, but otherwise just terrible.

Good to hear about the AC/20 enforcer, I kept trying different builds on Shadowhawks, Hunchbacks, and Centurions and didn't find anything that was to taste, I'll work on the enforcer next.

One thing I did notice amongst the games as event wore on - a tendency to back off scouting before Long Tom was present, as I hope people realized it was discouraging drops on those planets. It could also have been people completing the Scouting tasks and moving on to Invasion, I suppose.

They need to do a real case test.
1 month with no money spending, not help, no smiley faces.... nothing... just pure f2p experience in the FW meat grinder.
You can not expect a f2p player to start spending after the 1st week. Specially if he/she is used a fodder, while getting tortured by both gameplay and salty veterans.
4 empty mech bays, along with allowing fresh mechwarriors in trial mechs into FW is not really working out well for them...
At least the guys i've been trying to bring into this game ran away after their first 20 matches... as fast as they could! (some were even MW4 and MW3 fans)
I will spare you their reaction when i showed them the crazy high prices for mech packs!

I saw the same thing. I may (occasionally) run scouting missions, but I don't think I will ever touch Invasion again. Just no point.

The scouting part was a lot of fun. Enjoyed it very much, except for all the stormcrows, but , hey, I killed my share.

The invasion side not so much fun.Loooooooong wait times, way to long, and Long Toms just killed the fun.
Having to wait 10 to 20 minutes to get a match OR having half or three of four mechs destroyed to LTs without taking ANY enemy fire? Not my idea of fun.
LTs need to be looked at and tweaked so that you can play even if 1 side has LT. I am not saying you cant win facing LT but make it so the players make the difference and not the game mechanics....

Not so much a problem with events, rather that the game lets people into Faction Warfare without first finishing some kind of FW tutorial or something.

1st off, battling as a group is pretty easy tacitly, its the over all stratagem that is hard. 2nd I have never used a trial mech in the game period. 3rd you dont get spawn rap3d in solo matches, So I dont understand why that would mentality would be an issue.

Same for me. All my friends quitted MWO and they were all hardcore Mechwarrior fans since MW1 or 2.
