Hahahahaha. Not gonna drop a dime for new mechs anymore. However, once it is created, and is available for C-Bills, I WANT MY BLOOD KITE DAMMIT! It is well within timeline and PGI can make missing variants.

If Piranha Games doesn't make a Piranha with a piranha head I will be disappointed.

Honestly?

I want GOD DAMN WEAPONS more than I want 'Mechs. when my Vipers show up, and the basic Huntsman pack I caved on because I really enjoy mediums and it looked like a solid contender also turns up, I'll have somewhere close to 160 'Mechs. That is too damn many 'Mechs by any reasonable count...all of which are still using the same ~20 weapons we've had since the Invasion.

Bring on the FutureTech. I might actually play some of my Inner Sphere machines again if they get things like rotary autocannons, MRMs, X-pulse lasers, all the various spicy flavors of PPC, even funky toys like Bombast lasers (an excellent candidate for a charge-and-fire mechanic a'la the Gauss Rifle, which could make the Bombast laser a candidate for high-impact singleton energy weapon for hardpoint-starved machines. Since PPCs are clearly out).

And on the Clan side? I've had ideas for forever on cool ways to implement some of the Clans' more advanced weaponry. Kept meaning to make a "Possible Ways to Implement FutureTech" post, but Gyrok beat me to it and then his ideas were mostly a disaster so it soured the whole forum on the whole idea...but yeah.

I want new guns to put on my gigantic Santa Sackful of existing 'Mechs. And new electronics to stuff in next to those guns. And new armor types to clad the 'Mech carrying those guns in. After that, I'll be more interested in new 'Mechs to run all that stuff on.

Dunno... I've really reached a point where unless things change gameplay wise, there aren't mechs I'd be interested in buying.

Now, I'm not falling afoul of your OP here. This isn't a "I'm not buying more mechs cuz I'm mad at PGI" or other stuff, but rather that there's so few mechs left that would bring something to the table that I don't already have.

But there ARE mechs I'm interested in, and if this is changed in such a way as to make them offer something other than unique mechporn, I'd probably buy in. Novacat, charger (or was it the crusader? I always get them confused)... Maybe some more IIC mechs.

But I need something to make mech lab time interesting again.

New equipment and weapons worth far more than new 'Mechs in our current situation IMO because of 'Mech saturation. With that said, Clanners still have a couple of unique 'Mechs waiting to be released (Bane etc.).

'Mech like the most is the Mad Cat Mk. II because mainly I just like how it looks among other things.

Quads, simply because they'd be the first new actual chassis-mode per se.

Other than that, not really. The Archer was my last real goal in terms of "things I'd buy for real money", thanks to the lack of real content work.

Top 3; Currently possible:
  • Spartan – because I like the concept of an assault cavalry Mech.
  • Excalibur – a cavalry Mech with a nicely novel combination of ballistics and missiles.
  • Ostroc – Blessed Blake's ride. Period. (Also general nostalgia).

Top 3; Not possible in MWO:
  • Götterdämmerung – my favourite DA-Mech, and a true zombie (5 energy HP in CT and the space to use them).
  • Archangel – Peace of Blake be with you.
  • Barghest – a Lyran assault lance's watchdog.

Anything with high shoulder mounts of any type and top of its weight class or great agility quirks if not meta engine to weight.

any build that comes with new equipment. hardpoint inflation usually comes with diminishing returns, you might be able to bring out something like the bane so we can have a ballistic inflated mech option beyond the dire, and thats really all you can do at this point. you can get the max number of lasers on a dire whale but you would never be able to use them all effectively. heat issues start creeping in, and your inflatatron build becomes a heap of molten slag.

you cant push at the ceiling anymore. therefore new mechs wont bring anything new. for every new mech that comes out, you can probibly find another mech in your hanger that can do the same job with the same loadout. you need gimmicks like the sensor package on the cyclops to get people to buy things now. otherwise you are just selling mechs on their looks and they pretty much get reduced to vanity items. start including new weapons and equipment in the package, on the pay or wait model we have for mech release. thats the only thing that could get me to throw down for another mech pack.
