So I had a random DC from a match.... tried to log back in and then got DC'ed from the server again... finally on the 3rd attempt I got back in game..... Only to find that a team mate had legged me.

As far as I am concerned players like this should just be insta banned as there is absolutely no call for it.

Sorry.... this just ruined my wanting to play MWO....for the last couple of day.

It is my hope that Support nails this guy to the wall, as I am pretty sure who did it

I finally made it back into game at 1:10 on the vid

Why is this a thing? I was on a match in polar and we were all moving to the fight. An Atlas discoed just as we were starting to engage. A guy in an Arctic Cheetah (our only fast light) went nuts on VOIP and stated that he was going to take out the discoed mech no matter what (he used much more colorful language), to the point that he was ignoring the enemy...who was shooting at him...because of the crazy need to kill our own discoed mech. Wth? I wish the Atlas player would have reconnected in time to splat the guy (enemy did it for him).

Start of match discos are so common at the moment that I assume none of them are deliberate.

To leg people because they are the victim of a client crash is very poor behavior.

Sometime you press "quick play" button and in fact it double tap and the game launch 2 match in same time.

I realise this when, one week ago, did come back quick from a match, press quick play button and i was able to rejoin another match were i was involved with the same mech .
When i did rejoin this second match, my team was already totally obliterated like it was my fault i read people who was talking about my DC blabla same bullshits than usual from common average unknow players and i said i just rejoin guys and the game did launch 2 matchs in same time lol. They were all already near my spawnzone ( hater did give position for sure ) just got time for kill 2 guys with mighty ERPPC nova and this team finish to lose with my defeat.

Usually i stay alive almost last player or if i die, fast or not i always spect the match to the end also maybe it happend lots of time and i am not aware about this glitch is happening.
I see lots of players who are usually DC but maybe they are in 2 matchs in same time....

Oh i did got penalty time for this time not sure but its possible coze everything was weird this time... PGI PGI.

Lots of time, another glitch happend: I launch a game and waiting time look too big, so i press cancel and the game is still searching after i press the very interesting PGI popup "You did cancel your search" ( yea ty i know it i just cancel the search 37ms ago i still remember ty. )

Only a small percentage of MWO players commit such douchebaggery. Report and move on.

Penalty should be exponential in cbills, right now it is not effective.

Though rare, these instances are so upsetting that I don't think it's worth it to have friendly fire damage in the game.

But we do, and predictably, the rules are very hard to enforce. A player might do this 10 times before getting reported in a way that is actionable, and even then game companies often hand out about dozen suspensions before a ban. So that's a lot of very toxic incidents before it's stopped for good.

Ideally we'd have something like traffic cameras. If the computer detects a violation, it sends a video to a police officer, who then decides whether to issue a citation. But a system like that would require hiring more customer service folks, so it ain't happening.

The only other thing I can think of is to add another layer to the current automated penalty system. Maybe keep track of the frequency of violations that earn them a 5-second time out and impose a more serious penalty if it happens too frequently over a period of time.

The new now old system was designed to take the load of off PGI. It has nothing to do with correcting behavior. I am glad to see that even with the steam injection of players bad behavior is not even close to when the game went open beta. There was a year there where just about anything goes and it did most every match.

Overall I am pretty satisfied with the player base in pugs as i don't see a lot of TK or idiots going crazy.

Problem is simply because new players dont understand difference between AFK and DC.

One is player action and more or less bad, other tech related and usually beyond players ability to affect.

When such occurs, try to educate n00bs about it; pain in the arse, we know.

As one of the OPFOR in that match, it might comfort you to know most of your teammates were pissed in chat about that.

Op you do realise that you being basically afk for what?? 3-4 minutes i guess, didnt impact the game??

In my book you also deserve punishment for not due diligence in ensuring you can finish the match you started.

I had an A-hole in a game I was in, match loaded daughter asked me a question and because I Had a life, I answered her **** alpha'd me in the back for being stationary in the first 20 seconds of the match, then spent the rest of the match trying to justify why he's such a jerk.

As usual these **** discharges tend to be not very good

If you've never DCed at match start, you're very, very lucky. That's all. It's a common and widespread bug, not Darian or anyone else's fault.

This game would be garbage if our shots just magically bounced off or went through our teammates....

Aye When I drop I whole hearedly expect their to be 1 or 2 disco's in the match.. Even I get dropped 2 to 3 times a night.

Of Course the ALT TAB bug does not help..... but I have never once thought about damaging one of the DC'ed mechs.

I cant remember that happening, i remember server crashing and kicking half of ppl or everyone out, or my internet going dark but yeah i cant remember random dc at the start of the match and generally if ppl i play with dc they never come back.

you mean the black screen on alt tabbing? you can either change ratio with alt+ enter OR ctrl+alt+del (then abbort that ctrl+alt+del screen) to go back to normal visuals and game on.

Though I too have DCed and quickly come back only to find myself dead likely from a teammate...

One of my biggest peeves in the game is AFKers at the start of the match whom I figure are more concerned about their K/D than anything else, making a sandwich or whatever. If you're not absolutely ready to play then don't even click the queue up button.

If I'm in a quick enough mech that can easily catch back up to the group I'll shoot lasers on the ground near their feet which more often than not coaxes them to wake up and stop playing AFK. On a few occasions after making sure they're not DCed I have actually shot a very few points of damage into their back before running along. Just can't stand AFKers as they seem to plague way too many games.

Perhaps some actual DCs have to pay the price for the AFKer scum because of some teammates not being able to tell the difference between AFK and DC. I, myself, have never shot at an actual DC. Well at least not one on my own team..

My favourite is the way 'cancelling' a search can still launch a disco match Posted Image
