CRB 20 now with more zombie. survived at under 20% health on 1 leg with just a CT and still able to be a factor in a fight- as long as no one saw me and sneezed at me.

Well... Looks like it's going to be stuck as a med laser boat from the looks of things. Kinda disappointed if that happens, but wasn't unexpected... (I say this from the number of 5 MPL builds I keep seeing.) I would think a more mixed build might be better for a new player, more forgiving as it can be played in more varied roles.

At least some of the variants presented have a Std engine at least. Posted Image

Crotch critters for all
The zombie versions are fun as hell spawn. These have XL for more manuver and better heat management. I highly recommend cool shot(s) for all of these. UAV is good if you are running escort, for counter ECM. So meet your mechs.

Crusty
I use this for escort. I generally lurk around the Assaults with this guy. It can turn a light into a stick reasonably quick. The AMS Helps shield the assaults till it runs out. I also respond when the Missile boats call for help with flankers.

Because an infestation is a problem.

Mr. Crabs

This guy is a mugger and a ******. Get some noob in an alley all alone, or lurk around the assaults and get component destruction cash. I always feel dirty after taking this guy for a spin.

CRB-27SL

Mid 4's to low 5's. Needs a better pilot.

Because you refused to buy the shampoo you cheap *******

All of these guys live in my hanger.

Louse

This one is my least favorite. I wish I had the SL jump jets on this mech. I do love to hang in the back and just be that itch that cannot be scratched with it. Does ok if a flanker catches you. But not against the small laser vomit.

I can't say anything about your builds, however I can say... You do know Champion builds are intended for new players, right? They are the "loaner" mechs, and will come with no module options at all... So you stating that they would work great with a module kinda defeats the purpose.

Build wise, the 27 looks decent enough. Triple LLs can hold it's own, and with a Std engine to boot as well. Double AMS I see being helpful for new players, whom often times has more issues with LRMs, not knowing the tricks that can be used to evade them. Looks solid to me.

27SL has an XL engine, which can be a bit risky in a Crab, and for a new player. Solid otherwise with triple LPLs. It's a reasonable contender within the current meta (and I must stress current meta here).

27B looks solid, except for that XL engine. I don't feel it would be needed with triple ERLLs. I find that it can handle 3 ERLLs fine with a Std engine and with less cooling, impart because of it's quirks.
