The "mind Linked" Team In Pug Drops

You hit the quick play button and drop into the game. You take a look at all the names and don't see any familiar ones. You go through 50 seconds of waiting while the last guy connects; no one types anything, no one makes a sound on voip. You all power up, and off you go.
The match is under way and the fighting is heavy; yet still, no one types or sais anything.
A tactical opening appears before your team. The team immediately changes formation and engages the maneuver. Yet STILL, no one has said anything.
The battle rages on, and tactical decisions must be made quickly! Less then half of the 24 mechs remain. You subconsciously analyze your options and decide to push through a side path because of a gut feeling.
You don't bother to call out for backup, however, you take a glimpse at the situation and notice that 2 teammates have taken up formation with you. Once again, nothing has been said.
The three of you come up behind that pesky sniper and his LRM buddy. All three of you target the sniper and cut him down. The missleboat turns and realizes that he and his team have been flanked, but it is too late!
Without any fire support, the remainder of the enemy line crumbles and panics, allowing your team to swiftly cut them down.
The winning music plays, and the scoreboard pops up. You watch as all the players disconnect and then you realize that not a single piece of communication transpired. Despite this, your team performed with solid teamwork, and made all the right moves.
Soooooo.....Is it just a random occurrence where 12 like minded people (to the point of complete synchronization) are dropped together? Perhaps 24 like minded people?
What creeps me out, is that no one ever sais anything. Are these cold and calculated players actually bots? Am I going insane?

I'm suprised you just noticed this, it's been happening to me for the past 2 years at odd hours like you are.

See in this video, it's not hard for a group of people to synchronize their clapping with no one timing them.
Pugs on the other hand....
Usually go against nature, reason, logic everything.

Mmmm not so much the concept, but the extent of it.
That match where there are 24 people who are meeting each other at every move equally.
I'm talking about the match where there are 23 clones of you playing.

If there were We'd have a draw. Or a very long game at that.
Usually that's not the case. But it's rare too, rarer than the no communications but winning like you've mentioned.

You just lucked out and got them on your team that round. Comms chatter is not needed by them to perform well. You usually only see comms chatter when players are not acting that way.
Unfortunately, it seems there are a greater percentage of players that have none of those traits. They usually end up on my team during solo PUG drops.

Those sorts of matches are a sacred and holy thing, best to be savored and not spoken of lest the gods of RNG curse you to even less chances of them occurring. I believe I have had 3 of them in 2 years of play. I remember each, vividly.
Synchronicity
Do not question, do not doubt
Revel in the now.

I'd call it hyper awareness. You constantly check the mini map to monitor where the rest of your team mates are and if you see one moving erratically, more than a mech that type normally would, you just assume it is in battle with an enemy mech and move to reinforce it.
Pilot any mech chassis with your favorite load out enough and it just becomes like a motor function you don't have to think about like all those things you do when driving a car. Gas pedal, look ahead, check speed gauge, mirrors, location of other cars etc.
Using a light mech like the locust can develop it pretty fast. You'll get the sudden feeling of i-should-move-now.
