As a counter-point:

I live on the other side of Canada from PGI's servers. I have a reliable ping except when one of the nodes along the line has problems (not related to PGI but to the telecommunication companies). On my Operating-system + MWO + Steam + Drivers +TeamSpeak only partition, I do not crash out of games at all (I can't remember my last crash so it has got to be many many moths ago).

So, if people are having problems I suggest you do several tracert (trace route) from you to PGIs servers when you are having problems and I am sure you will fine one of the nodes along your route to PGI is probably causing the issues.

The nodes were something I didn't think much of until you said so now.

Probably 1 in 50 that play this game probably have a node that goes faulty when or while connecting to it.

Since the patch I've probably played about 10-12 hours and I've had numerous problems with connection, and I've seen other people having problems.
For example:

After playing a few matches, I dropped on HPG and my ping shot up to 10,000+(???) before my Locust was smashed by a Kodiak. Ping never went below 1,000 after that. Restarted the game and it seemed fine.

5 disconnects on a Faction Play match. All on the same side (mine).

In general, after playing a few matches my ping gets so high the game is unplayable. Usually my ping is around 40-60.

It's kind of deterred me from playing...

So it's PGI's fault it went up to 10k?

No, this is actually involving the connection of player to server, not server to player.

Something is running amok, the question is, what is it?

(No, it's no a Lolcust tearing up the cables, though I wish it was!)

I've had the game crash twice in about 10 games since the last patch. Both situations required a reboot of the computer. In general, I've found crashes to be very infrequent in MWO over the past 4 years so this is unusual in my experience.

Crashes have only happened in MWO and no other software (that I can recall) was installed in the same time frame. However, no conclusive evidence that the issue is MWO and not something else on my system.

I wasn't trying to blame PGI at all, it very well could've been my fault. I just thought that was extremely odd...

I haven't suffered one, but I've seen disconnects today, about one every two games, they usually reconnect, but it's enough to notice, and in a couple of games today there were three disco's

Usually pretty good, but like I said, it seems like after I play a few games my connection goes south and it's basically unplayable. If I restart the game it starts over, but if I play through 2-3 more matches of high ping it settles back to 40-60 for the rest of the time I'm logged in.

I do play on a laptop over a wireless connection, and I know that's not ideal but this is the only game I seem to have issues with, which sucks cause this is basically the only game I thoroughly enjoy playing...

Wireless may be it - try playing with a Ethernet cord sometime, it's better than wireless.

I'd say about the same. But then again, as I don't bother to check only EU servers for QP it could be I see DCs because I also play NA and Oceanic servers (where some players have way worse ping than me). My ping is usually very good EU (40-50), NA 130-150 and Oceanic can be 250.

I have a stable connection, and a mediocre ping of 160 on both NA and EU servers. Same as before.

I have noticed since the last patch that I tend to disconnect quite a bit. Sometimes twice in an hour. Its enough to put me off of FW because I don't want to hinder my team. I never had any disconnecting problems till recently

THIS is important. There is so much outside intermittent interference sources (electric devices, static discharge, atmospheric sources, a butterfly flapping its wings in the amazon) that can cause a WIFI connection to go wonky for a second you just wouldn't believe. While a second of poor communication is nothing for streaming or surfing, in the game it is an eternity.

That second can cause you to lag out into a group of enemy, disconnect from the server or hang during load. Friends, don't let friends play FPS via WIFI.
