Well, the scaling looks pretty good.

I did notice a distinct lack of quadruped limbs in the scaling images. Perhaps an artifact of using Mechlab camera?

Scale looks fantastic. Viper really is at the barrier between Lights and Mediums. I dig everything I've seen so far.

I think I'll love the heck out of this mech.

I'm just a lowly scrub, but I find bog to be mediocre at best largely due to the small size and over abundance of things that grab mechs... also it is the biggest offender of colorblind player problems out there. If nothing else a less red/green palette would help, but making it a bigger map, while not doing away with the good brawls locations would be massively in it's favor.

Also, I personally find new Frozen City is amazing (except on domination). It still is a brawler map at heart but has enough space to allow the use of a sniper and not be DOA.

If Frozen City is the template for new map construction theory, I am excited. But then I am a srcub and refuse to just snipe, even on Polar, which can be a brawlers paradise in the right mechs.

Adding to Blind Baku above, I can say the New version of Frozen City is a partial improvement. However, I do know how PGI can improve it further. All they would need to do is add a sub-surface network of tunnels and caverns with various states of freezing and ice, with outlets in both peripheral places and the center trench of the map. That kind of change to the New version of Frozen City, in my opinion, would make the map absolutely perfect. :D

That said, I hope the changes to Viridian Bog are also rather grand and remarkable. Don't know how much that tunnels and underground things would fit there, but if they could be fit in, then it would add another dimension of battle to the map. :)


Now, what are we doing talking about other things here, when the topic is supposed to be the new Viper Clan OmniMech? For the note, I've done some study on the new mech already. From what I can tell, possible hardpoint combo counts (provided I haven't confused myself with a different mech) may have been overtouted during the earlier hype thread. I hope people aren't feeling a letdown on the Purchaser's Release Day. :unsure:

Actually they could improve frozen city by improving the mech cooling on it... WIND CHILL people !!! Nothing better than arctic blasting air to cool a metal object down fast.

Hey, you remember when you used to do a slow pan around the cockpit instead of this random snap artsy garbage? Go back to that.

I have to second this. PGI, your 'snapshots' do not give a proper feel of what the Cockpit or anything is really like. Go back to doing it like how you did the Cockpit Preview for the Rifleman, during the segments where you're actually showing from inside the Mech Cockpit. Don't worry about your video needing more run time, because all you're doing is waving people away when you try to get tricky about matters. <_<
