What Influences You? What Influences The Developers?

Is it a personal decision based on multiple factors?
Is it divergence from an earlier expressed goal/s?
Maybe it's balance?
Or do other things influence your decision to support or not support this game?
I for one, was a disillusioned and disenfranchised Founder going way back to the "3 pillars, 90 days, no coolant flush" days. Shut the wallet down then, and only cracked it open a little bit when the first Marauder pack came out because I felt that the pricing scheme was trending towards a price I considered reasonable and I wanted to reward such behavior.
Do you think PGI pays any attention, and if so HOW do they weigh opinions of forum regulars? My opinion, most likely considered "fringe, bittervet" at this point, but how about the opinion of more respected players.
Does the opinion of a massive poster, one with a number of likes approaching 100,000 mean anything? Does the loss of faith from such a person influence those of you who have been around a long time? How about those new to the game?
Surely the staggering numbers indicate that such a person has got their finger on the pulse of the game and the player base, doesn't it?
So, I'm curious, does a posters reputation affect your opinion and do you think PGI should stand up and take notice when the wind changes the tenor of such people?? I'm not saying that they should be listened too solely, but certainly PGI must pay attention when it's not just the underhive masses of the forums posting their displeasure, but when long term supportive founders start to sound like they are turning their backs on the game, at least financially.

Excessive Whining (regardless of the validity of the complaint)
Threatening to not buy more mechpacks
Done.

The devs? I think it's mostly random number generators and blind monkeys throwing poop at spreadsheets.

As for PGI, contrary to the going notion that PGI are huge dartboard fans, I believe they tend to listen to the loudest voices of the community and most silent whispers from their staunchest partnerships.

Cannabis. Clearly. Probably hydroponic. Because they had to be as high as the proverbial kite when they dished up this *****. I despise Kodiak 3s but they were a self-correcting problem because they got focused down like LRM Catapults. If the tradeoff for nerfing the Bear is power-nerfing Locusts, Catapults, and Marauders...that's a ****** up trade. Clearly, whatever Paul and Co. are loading up their bongs with is really, really good...I mean Tommy Chong good.

The Generals and Colonels are saying this won't work or we shouldn't do that.
A lot of screaming and ranting ensues.
"Have any of you people looked at my twitter!"
But no one pushes the issue for fear of the unemployment firing squad.

While I don't listen to or watch the town halls because I am either busy at the time or working I do read here and the patch notes. Twitter is a piss poor way of communications in my option for a business when there are better ways such as a news letter which pgi does have. I sub to it. Decals are finally in along with loot crate. About dam time for decals and mixed feelings on loot crate. It now gives pgi one single thing people can spend mc on besides mechs.
I didn't read in the patch notes if/when players can submit their own art for a small amount of mc and meeting guidelines set by pgi. I'd have expected pgi to come up with this since decals were first announced.
Balance is pretty much done by whining over twitter and begging russ to order some one under him to "look into it." It took two and a half years to fix the catapult and an 87 page thread constantly being revived from necrotroplis to get the vcr ears removed.
Quirks are a joke. Sixty percent acceleration and deceleration on the locust and jenner? PPCs used only on mechs with ppc velocity forty-fifty percent? Fix the dam weapon values and dam the quirks. I'd love to see this game remove all quirks and weapon cool down/ range modules for one week to see how the game really plays.
Public Test server? PGI uses it for a table in the break room. They sure don't use it for much else.

I like a company that is responsive to it's customers and considers their feedback to make their product better.
While I find that PGI has created a foundation for a great game, they have neglected communication with their player base and therefore have had hit or miss performance in providing developments that would make their product better.
I also find their customer service to be lacking flexibility, and I consider customer service to be the #1 thing that a software company needs to do well.

I can not possibly guess what influences the decision making of the devs. (Who recently posted in twitter that we simple consumers shouldn't think we can do better than them so we should mainly just shut up).

the only time a mech is worth buying is if it has some kind of gimmick like masc when it came out or that sensor package the cyclops will have. you might see something like that in one out of 5 mech packs. even then that has kind of limits to how far it will go. you really cant go with iconic mechs like the kodiak that lore fanatics buy up when you are scraping the barrel. iconic mechs are available you just have to advance the timeline (and do all that entails, new equip and weapons, and that is something i would buy). its hard to get excited about barrel scrapings.
how long are you going to ride the supply cache wagon? will that dry up too? probibly. modes and maps are on the trickle line, so i dont think you can really do anything spectacular with that, except keep people playing. its neccisary to maintain population, because people wont buy mech packs or keys or dekkles if the game is dead.
come on, be content creators, and create more content already, and not just mech packs. create something i actually want.

it is generally fun,a nd PGI sin't doing a bad job, some things they do and make a wrong and weird *caugh* balance *caugh*
ut generally they really try and do good stuff with the game and it is fun. It's not P2W servers aren't derp. and those two things are already rare to find in f2p games. And I tried more f2p games than one may believe.

As for the topic, I'd like to think they have proper data analysis and a good analyst and leaders who understand data analysis to some degree. I don't think it always works out, but hey, no one's perfect.
