As long as there are no NegaQuirks (those red letters) or massive positive quirks (hello new +80% accel-deccel PXH lol) involved, I guess I am not too bothered ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
PS: PGI please don't ship the Night Gyr with quirks (of any kind)!

And it's not like I'm a bandwagon-jumper. I've been running Locusts and Blackjacks ragged since 2014. I pre-ordered Marauders before even knowing what their quirks would be and play them frequently.

The opposite is true for potentially bad mechs, where they are completely underbuffered or not at all, and continue to stay that way for its initial lifetime.

It's a problem because at the level of play we are compelled to play at because of tier, especially at prime time. I want to play Locusts. I am pretty damn good in a Locust, but the nature of the 'Mech is that it's still a handicap more often than not. I don't want to handicap my team.
So I either play the 'Mechs I want and handicap the team or I bring something that offers the team a stronger chance of success and don't get to play the 'Mechs I like. What the hell kind of crap decision is that and why do I have to make it when playing a videogame?

If the Night Gyr rocks, PGI will nega-quirk it into oblivion, and you'll be a sad puppy.

They also seem to want to make Marauders unable to get out of their own way. Nice.

Well, to be honest it's just some armor I think. I didn't see it to be too bad. I don't think it'll affect my enjoyment of my K2.

"Sad" isn't the right choice of word I think, because I buy the 'Mech after thinking a lot about it. Honestly it was because of Alex' drawing.
If it turns out to be meh then it's my own fault. It is a pretty good 'Mech on paper so positive buffs at release would not make sense (let's not repeat what happened with KDK-3)! If it has no positive quirks, it can only get some later on which will make people happy and not salty!

Yep, as far as I can tell, the Night Gyr is gonna be good even without quirks. And I style myself as someone who knows better about balancing than PGI, which isn't saying much really.

Structure AND armor. Across the board. Nerfed to levels well below where Catapults were in October last year. Fragility, thy name is Catapult.
We need an update to the 11/5 Catapult nerf meme. We hardly knew ye.

A dartboard is not an overlord.
