You won't see more other lights. You will see more Cheetahs with a smattering of Ravens and Jenner IICs
Locusts were simply what was left that was moderately useful.

Of course i'll still run Locusts and Commandos for that matter, but I'm a bit odd that way.

I can name quite a few with those characteristics.

No you can't because you don't speak for every player.

So what you are saying is that the people deciding on traffic rules are the people that drive the most? Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

If only the world could have been that perfect.
But at least they decide after observing and analyzing years worth of VISUAL data, even if they don't drive.

Now I want to see the balance overlord sit and watch actual matches than just looking at numbers and playing with his calculator.

Yes I can.
Because i've seen the track record of those since 2012, and the reactions of the community.
And I've seen things getting better when PGI listened to them.

Calm down people!
Everytime the same procedure - about nothing...

Yes, there were nerfs - boohoo.
Everyone knew they were coming. We got enough cheese kills out of them after all.

But to be honest this is more a nerf in the whiners heads than in the actual game. Most of these 'nerfs' - though looking dramatic on paper - are far below the threshold for conscious perception.
It's not like in battlefield, where a 4-shot kill suddenly is a 3-shot-kill.

The mechs are slightly less agile here and there. In 99.5% of the cases whis won't be even noticeable. Same with the structural quirks. These are worth a single medium laser hit, or PPC hit. Woooo...
So a 21-shot kill turned in a 20-shot kill. Wow. Shattering. The Rage!

As already mentioned: the perception of these changes is way out of proportion - as are the reactions. It's the same with the rescaling where even minor changes by something like 2px on some mechs lead to an uproar that had no rationale...

So just keep on playing, nothing really has happened.
You may just have a bad day or you maybe, just maybe really do something stupid from time to time - but don't always blame everyone and everything for your own faults.

this nerf was done because of whiners who got changes that were clearly not needed. the rescale should have run for like 2 month before changes should have been done. SO when the usual initial whine settles down. Now that the whiners succesfully got what they wanted, why shoudl the others not "counterwhine" seems to be the only way to get thinsg changed, no matter of good or not.

Agreed OP, most players that aren't aware of the toning down of quirks won't even notice any change.
The one's that will notice changes are the one's that rely on the quirks today, and perhaps the ones that have an agenda for really wanting to notice A HUGE NERF!! Posted Image

The only quirk changes I'd be sad about are ballistic velocity quirks, because I disagree with the inherently slow floaty projectiles at their base speeds. :3

Dude, I play this game. I've played this game for years. I've put real money into this game. You're damn right I have the right to complain when PGI continues to eff up their product with decisions that don't make any sense. I'm done with giving them the benefit of the doubt after the minimap debacle and the nonstop nerfs. The decision makers don't even play their own game.

There's not one true OP mech in the game at the moment. Not one class is head-and-shoulders dominated by one chassis. The KDK-3 probably comes closest. What's the rationale behind nerfing the BJ, the Cent, or the Mad? Again, the decision makers don't play their own game. If they did play, they'd look at these quirk revisions and have the same reactions as people up and down this forum.

Call it whining if you want, whatevs. The forum is here for us to talk about stuff like this. If we're whining, you're whining about whining--meta-whining.

Do you seriously think that if players were given the power to decide how to balance the game it would be better?

No, but it would likely be more consistent.

You suggest that PGI has multiple people combing through data and through this analysis they determine quirks. Sorry but I don't believe that for a moment.

You pretend that there is data showing that the Quickdraw is so OP that it needs yet another round of nerfs? Analysis shows that the Kodiak 2 and 4 were just way to agile?...the 2 and the 4?! That the Bounty Hunter was just too nimble with a 300 rated engine? etc. I just have difficulty believing that any data exists that would support the conclusion that some of these mechs needed nerfing.

I love, love, love the nerfs! ALL of the mechs that got nerfed needed them. I knew it would be a whine fest, and I love it. For those that are crying try piloting something other than a mech that will give the illusion that you are a good pilot. Remove the facade and your pride and pilot an ordinary mech...stop relying on OP to brag how good you are.

I'm loving it sooooo much lol

I can see the Kodiaks getting some quirks removed. It wont kill them.

But why in th ename of all that is holy did they beat novas, battlemasters, and marauders with the same nerfbat? THEY WERE FINE. We are tired of all the decent rides in this game getting beat down for no reason other than to say they did something.

Yes my Medium laser/gauss Bounty hunter was totally OP.

Huh? Nova lost structure when it got downsized last patch. Then it lost more structure on this patch.

I'm just happy the wicked good CN9-AL finally got nerfed. With its fearsome ability to carry 2MLs in the CT and destroy swarms of mechs even after losing both side torsos, the CN9-AL was an absolute menace.

Right?

I'm going to go with what's behind door number 3.

Fewer light mechs. PGI keeps nerfing them, people are going to stop playing them.

While the Jenner Acceleration is a boost...... it will not solve the core problem.... that core problem is.... they get cored easier than any other mech in the game with the CT.....

However i am very surprised the FS and the WH were not touched..... Just makes no sense to me.

The changes to the locust just absolutely baffle me.... seriously taking away the structure? You can already one shot the damn thing.
