I think PGI and the mods finally decided that locking/removing this topic would probably backfire on them...

... famous last words?

Well the whole thing is in violation of their precious freedom-intolerant document so I'm pretty surprised it has been allowed to go on.

Or is this more of that selective following of the CoC that these boards are famous for?

From what I am seeing if they delete this thread their going to have to clean house.

I did notice that a year ago this tread would have made 25 pages by now. I know i could do 25 page ones then with one of my psych warfare projects synch drop threads.

No one is here anymore. This place has lost all its energy.

Topic safe.

There's a few moderators left. I've seen green volmod tags show up.

Why lock it? The thread is a useful, frequently bumped object lesson in PGI communications and what to expect.

I'm in a "picture" kinda mood while at work today, so here is my depiction of why we don't see much of our CM on the forums;

This is a knowledgeable group in these forums, and the unprepared will get eaten alive. I doubt that anyone at PGI wants to voluntarily enter the hyenas den.

Sad part is, they helped create it but are at a loss as to how to fix things.

Nahh.. as soon as somebody from PGI actually looks at this forum again, in a week or two that is ..
then they gonna lock it, jettison it, or out right delete it.
You can't have them threads putting up mirrors in front of PGIs faces.

My topic is safe by virtue of nobody being around to delete it? Why would they lock or delete it? Thus far, we've been much less... vocal than in Derek's thread.

Truth is,
If a company is having this much trouble from a group of people who are passionate about their IP then PGI is doing something wrong. Since I started playing I have been horrified at their seeming inability to communicate on their own forums properly!

Really, anything that goes out into the world from PGI, in any other media form, should hit the official FORUMS first then scatter out to twitter and other such places. Maybe their poor communication isn't that they aren't trying to communicate but just being so ineffective on WHERE and HOW they communicate. These forums should be the hub from which all other social media flows and likewise, it should be the spot where all input flows back into the company.

Maybe this should be in the daily whine.

I wouldn't say "fired" because he wasn't getting paid (volunteer), but yeah it sucks.

Derek made the mistake of trying to do the job that Tina doesn't feel like doing.

I get the feeling that her job is vastly different from Russ's POV, than what we come to expect normally.

I mean, she is the 3rd one, and the responsibilities are seemingly all the same since Garth and Niko (I shudder to mention the latter).
