Clan Widowmaker has been a Player Unit in game since Beta. They have been a constant for events, competition and in the community with several founders in their Rolls.

In the lore for the Sun Spider PGI mentions the Clan Scientists that were absorbed helped with the design. of the mech. " Shamed by their continued losses, the Scorpions’ Scientist-General Patkirk took matters into his own hands, opening secret discussions with Clan Wolf scientists. While initially rebuffed, Patkirk discovering several of the scientists were from the absorbed Clan Widowmaker changed the tone of the negotiations. While the former Widowmaker scientists had embraced their new Clan, an echo of their original loyalty—and shame—remained. "

Now that I think about it, the logo does make sense having the Widowmaker logo in the game. Even Kyle Vodermark's page on Sarna states that although no Widowmaker Bloodnames exist anymore, their logo is used by the Bandit Caste. Even "Ye Olde" Patrick's Battletech Archive site and WarhawkPPC support this claim.
