It's the epitome of "bad robits''! Despised both in lore and by these Biped-supremacists on Mechwarrior forums!
Is there any quad that wouldn't be at a disadvantage in MWO?

Sadly there's very little difference between the G & the Grasshopper.

(What? It's in our current timeline, and MWO has the tech for the Prime as well as the A, B, and C variants. Pity about the D, though...)
I've been lobbying for Raptor since forever. PGI, pls.

Bushwacker 55 tons has 3 variants that have current in game items with 5 variants possible.
Clint 40 tons has 4 variants that have current in game items with 8 variants possible and 1 Named Hero/Champion version.
Daimyo 40 tons has 4 variants that have current in game items with 4 variants possible.
Dervish 55 tons has 5 variants that have current in game items with 7 variants possible and 2 Named Hero/Champion
Falcon 30 tons has 4 variants that have current in game items with 7 variants possible and 1 Named Hero/Champion
There is another half dozen or more IS Light/Medium mechs to pick from.
Me Personally I would take the Bushwacker for IS, then Follow that up with the Black Lanner for Clan then follow that up with an IS Assault then another grouping of Clan mechs.

We're far more likely to see IICs of existing mechs. Next pack Urby IIC, Shadow Hawk IIC, Rifleman IIC, Marauder/Warhammer IIC confirmed.
Oh wait they don't do superpacs anymore.

It's a hard life, loving the oddballs. I imagine this is how the quad fans live.
EDIT: I found another mech I want, this one from 3053. The Fireball. 20-ton mech, comes stock with a 220XL. The three versions available in the timeline are the 7D (1 SSRM2, 1 MG), the 8D (2 ML, 1 MG), and the 9D (1 ML, 1 SSRM2).

Hopefully, but i wont be buying.
This is the only way they could get me to spend real money on a clan mech and the likelihood of it happening are virtually zero.

However, a few simple examples could be the Scorpion, Goliath, Xanthos, Stalking Spider, Thunder Stallion, Bishamon too.
No one's mentioned one of my favorite quads, the Tarantula. Okay, it's slightly outside the timeline but imagine it. A 25 ton quad mech would be ridiculously tiny with their scaling system. Throw on the hardpoint inflation that is the status quo these days, and you have a chance at getting a mean little monster. But it's a quad so I'll rest my hopes of getting one with my Hatchetman.
And since I'm here, let me plug my other favorite quad, the absolutely ridiculously amazing Great Turtle.
Ladies, please. One at a time.

Right. Unfortunately it is quite hard to come up with useful light Mechs for the IS. There is really good stuff like the Jackal or the Spector, but they often lack variants (which use tech available in MWO). When we get a timejump, a whole new set of lights becomes available but until then...
The light Mechs of TRO:3025 are fan favourites, and I do not exclude myself from that since I would buy the Valkyrie e.g. immediately, yet I doubt they would be very good in MWO.
Anyway, I am pretty sure we will get something from TRO:3025, and it probably won't be a light. I think it will be the Crusader since everybody seems to love it; I hope it will be the Ostroc if it has to be 3025. And I hope it is not from 3025 at all.

Yes, that Mech also got my attention. It is definitely worth a thought, as it has the required three canonic variants for MWO. You might even make a Hero Mech based on some kind of prototype ALM-XF. However, it would need some hardpoint inflation to be more than joke-build (although that could be said about other Mechs too).
And unfortunately it is a bit of a dark horse, despite the fact that it rose to be the FedSuns' premier recon Mech. I am afraid the lack of popularity is the greatest drawback of this Mech... It just would not sell well (unknown + 20ton Mech = few buyers).
That's too bad because I like the Fireball.
