Like the title says. When you're mastering Clan mechs do you try to use the same, finely tuned build on all 3 mechs or do you use the different mechs for different roles?

Personally, I try to justify the mechs by using them differently in different roles. The Timber Wolf, for example, I have a version with LLas in the side torsos and Mlas in the arms but then I have another version which uses the CT mounted laser to supplement it's ST mounted lasers and SRM racks.

Personally, I use three different configurations.

If im running a clan mech with no quirks and i like the build i will use it on 3 variants just to get mastery out of the way....if the mech has decent quirks then i try to use a build that fits the quirks.

I personally, don't have the time to waste to master all three of a chassis anymore so I take the easy way out. I basic all three. If the CT's are different, I keep the ones with different CT's. Otherwise, I basic and sell the chassis, keeping the (I) version or whatever version is Hero or Champion. I'll only Master the special version, usually the (I), keeping all the omnipods of the other variants. If I need more than one for a drop deck or something, I'll purchase via cbills, a repeat of the mastered variant.

I use multiple configurations if I can.

My best was the Ebon Jaguar that I kitted up all 4 with decent loadouts using all the matching omnipods. I've changed them since, but I thought it was really cool at the time.

Yes. Unless I get bored with the build.

I always get 3 diff to get the 2x multiplier and each chasis whether IS or C is 1 missle build (lrm or srm) 1 energy build, and 1 ballistic.

My guilty pleasure is mix builds though.

Bought 3 scr. 6 mpl on 1, 3lpl on another, 3srm6a 2mpl 4ersl. Energy brawl. Energy snipe. Brawl. Eventually will figure lbx or uac20 and some lazors just cuz of principles

lol, I try to level them with a build as close as stock as possible, got 6 fully mastered light clan mechs and I've never changed an omnipod.

Just bought 6 mediums last weekend and I'll stick to that plan.

Depends.

1st EBJ had 2xLPL + Gauss.

2nd EBJ had 3xCUAC5.

3rd EBJ had 2xLPL + 4 CERMLs.

Hail,

In order to maximize earnings, I Master all three variants using the same build. I rotate as each level is complete, stripping the Mech clean then building the next one.

Once finished, I generally keep just one build ready to go. Unless having more that one variant makes sense. I have 134 Mastered Mechs with between 300-400 million Cbills.

I manage my modules carefully, they can get expensive fast.

Seyla,

I run them different. And I try to make them a good bit different so I might have one that is a midrange mech, one is all brawl, and one is all sniper. Though this doesn't always work out to well and I end up with a big gap in effectiveness between the mechs. But in a case like that I don't run the less effective one much after mastering it.
Though sometimes I will change part way through too. Like my Mad Dogs were srm/sl, lpl/ml, lpl/uac10, but I wasn't liking the lpl/ml so I changed it to asrm which is more similar to the srm/sl.

when I buy a pack I will usually basic 3 of them on different builds as test runs, then perform master on my favorite loadout.

However, if i am buying them with Cbills, I often get a glut of XP by the time I can afford the next one in sequence. This means when I buy the third one and basic it, I instantly master the previous two by dumping in their XP. I may or may not choose to master the third one...

Depends on how many good builds the omnipods allow

3 Different builds for me. I think playing the same build to gather 64K of EXP would get stale.

I try to find various builds to explore the chassis. Sometimes (*cough* SHC *cough*) there's just one thing that really works, though.

It depends. I usually try to for a semblance of science and diversity.

Then again, when I grinded out the Mist Lynx long ago, I had no other good options but using the same build. That's how you know mech building diversity on a bad omnimech can be total and utter garbage.

Yeah I end up leveling the boring ones serially rather than simultaneously, too. Takes longer but much less boring.
