I'm getting a lot of "component destroyed" too when I manage clip an arm with a quad-salvo, but again I might very well be mistaken ...
On the other hand, they do affect the range of my C-SLs, but since I only use those for warding off "pests" and some finishing shots when brawling up close, I could very well replace them with a couple more tons of ammo, or even upgrade the C-SLs to Mediums ... I'll have to do more tests on that and get back to you.

INCREASES AC (EXCEPT LBX) AND PPC PROJECTILE SPEEDS; LASER RANGES; AC (EXCEPT LBX), PPC, AND LASER CRIT CHANCES. INCREASES SENSOR RANGE, ZOOM, AND SPEEDS UP TARGETING DATA.
I think its not worth for 4 smlpls. But its your decision^^
Aunt Edit says: its the same text as in the ingame popup.

I stand corrected. That will teach me to read the pop-up fully instead of just skimming to the stats.
Back to the drawing board then ... but I still have more success with the quadLBX than I had with the quadUAC.

Tried out the 4 X UAC10. Always heat management issues to be wary of....and if you get jumped odds are you will overheat.
BUT with 2 X UAC10 + 2 X UAC5 heat is much less of a concern, allowing you to get off more shots, thereby doing essentially the same damage as the 4 XUAC10......

But you can fire 2+2 without ghostheat.

Technically true. However, you will find that with 'more shots' there is more jamming- cancelling out the balance.
Stick with the 4 X UAC10 and use discipline firing 2 + 2 as Rayden advised.

Not looking forward to the upcoming nerfs for the KDK twist range and cUACs Nov. 15th.
The build I've been using is 2xCUAC10 + 2xCMG + 2CERLL + 2CERML
5 Tons CUAC10 ammo, 1/2-ton of MG ammo, CXL400, 9xDHS, TC2
Ferro-DHS-Endo
Alpha: 64
Heat: 1.15-2.00
Armor: 556-615
I like this build better than the 4xCUAC10 build for PUG play. Much better range and less dependent on ammo. Plus, the cERMLs and cMGs shoo-off pesky lights much better than trying to land a CUAC10 shot. The MGs also serve to raise the CUAC10s above the cockpit.
Seems to have a balanced mix that works well for PUG play for me, where it's like Forrest Gump's candy-box...you never know what your gonna get! Ha! Keeping the CXL400 engine allows me to stay with the group if/when they decide to take off and "NASCAR" around the map, as well.

It's a bit hot but you use the ERMLs as chainfire mainly until you want to unload with massive UAC/10 fire for downing them.
Gives you a direct fire then a nice ballistics when it's the right time.
Just make sure to fire the UAC/10's in pairs.

There is absolutely no reason to gimp yourself with a standard. That's not the only flaw in that build, but it is the immediately fatal one.

And that build is very easy to do well in.

Also, quad 10s has been suboptimal since the GH "fix" and is getting much worse in today's patch.

Same thing but with a 365 engine. If you strip more legs you can get more engine.

I couldn't figure out how to get more engine than that without removing a lot of armor.

I was not aware of the patch.. I'll have to look into that. I was enjoying the laser splat combo. I could take down mechs pretty quick with this.

Like I said, the standard was not the only flaw in that build. I run 5 tons for 2 UAC/10s, for 4 it's nowhere near enough if you aren't dead too soon.

Needs more MG ammo to use up the space. That's an important consideration.
