The biggest core issue about issuing a "push" is always related to how much you trust your teammates.

In the case of the solo queue, you can realistically expect no help. You don't really know your teammates, and generally assuming that they will make the right decision is asking for trouble most of the time.

The only time this even remotely works is if you even know the guy (by name or rep) and try to work with that person regardless.

The other time is when people stop in mid push. It is almost categorically require for you to remind everyone when pushing is that "IF YOU DON'T KEEP MOVING IN (TO MORDOR'S CENTER), YOU WILL GET YOUR TEAMMATES KILLED". While it doesn't always work, the results generally speak for themselves (holding at the ramps doesn't lead to winning generally - sometimes it depends on which side is camping as a group better, but that's assuming both sides are chicken).

I don't honestly know what the best solution is... but if you don't even try to work together... you know what's going to end up happening... more often than not.

Several times I've heard the order to push only to find it was given by the LRM Boat who then wants you to lock onto targets for him while you're doing close quarters brawling! Those are the guys I want to go back and finish off myself.

When I'm dropping solo in Faction Play and I get a premade on my team that's calling the shots, I always keep an eye on what they are actually doing. If they call for a push over open ground, I'll do it, but only once I see they themselves are committing to it. Unfortunately there are premades out there who treat their pugs as cannon fodder. Also, sometimes a drop commander's own premade ignores his calls.

So do your part for the team, but do it smartly.

Yeah, when someone says push, I wait for them to push. I don't commit unless I am part of a coordinated team or at least half our team pushes of it's own volition. Too many times I followed the call to push and ended up alone while everyone else stayed behind a tree.

In PUGlandia, if someone is trying to get players to push, that is taking command (a voice of some direction amongst chaos). Remember, when PUGing, the closest thing a team often gets to "coordinating" is the guy that says..."Plan?" at the begining of a match lol.

Nope. They should take the command position. Otherwise, it could be some parasite in the back line just farming for kills while the rest of the team die. <shrugs>

Someone needs to take the position also just in case we need to frag someone? Posted Image

The best thing about a well-executed push is the reaction it has on the enemy. In a pug drop teams are made up of some players who may be less experienced. When those players are suddenly confronted with large numbers of enemies and weapons fire, sometimes they panic and retreat. If that happens, nine times out of ten the team that pushes and stays together wins.

The best thing to do is say where you are pushing to and giving a count down. "Okay, everybody push to Delta 5 on 3, 2, 1, push!"

Another problem is that even pushing as a 100-ton assault, supposedly doing your job, you can die in literally two seconds. Unless it comes from a direction they aren't expecting, which is exceptionally rare, a push is really just a suicide rush.

Only if its done poorly, you don't push into a choke point, you push through one, and you spread, to form a line of fire, not use the guy in front as cover, also if you know your going to take fire you go through torso twisted, because more times than not. you take fire as soon as seen, better to lose an arm, then a side.

9 out of 12 players in every drop think they are a sniper or a missile turret and yet when you get a team to push all at the same time you roll anyone. I always end up on team sniper in a brawler.
