Atlas, Highlander, Awesome, Zeus, Direwolf, Warhawk, Mauler. Mastered them all on multiple variants, but I've dumped them all.Was a dedicated assault pilot. No more. We've divorced.
In quickplay you're too slow and eveybody's selfish - nobody gives one damn about the mech next to you. You either get picked off and focused like you have Ebola and your flesh needs to be incinerated, or you arrive too late to the party to be of any use with all of that firepower. In faction play if you use assaults on you early wave, you're basically pigeonholed into using a light in your later wave. Also, you get focused like you have Ebola. Using heavies and mediums in your drop deck is optimal. You really need a unit to use your assault mech properly in CW. If you're solo'ing/pugging, it's no different than quickplay - all of the same problems surface.I've fully converted to the heavy mech.tl;dr: Assault mechs have Ebola.

This makes me sad because of my matches is determined by who has the better assaults and better assault pilots. As a Med. Mech pilot, I need my assaults to be in the match and perform well.

I somehow am able to be fast enough for pretty much anything in a DireWolf. If you are "left behind" in smth like a Warhawk then stop hiding behind your teammates while lobbing lurms left and right.
Way to go making assumptions.
I don't use LRMs.

Mainly because you cannot get to targets fast enough and usually before you do your alone and fighting the enemies lights.
1) and if you do happen across an enemy, virtually everything is fast enough to just out run you....
2) And since PGI somehow believes that Lights should be able to just auto kill assaults, despite no other class in the game having an entire class designed specifically to negate very one of their advantages.... getting caught by a light or two that isn't T5 means you're either dead.... or so mauled that it doesn't matter that you're not dead.
