Like that mech you're in right now?

Ready to roll for another 3-5 more matches?

Hate having to wait to reconnect, only to wait to find another match?

Proposal.

Before you hit play from your mechbay, toggle whether you're fine to remain in the same instance of people.

The more of you who do this, theoreticallly the faster everyone gets to play again, instead of sitting through glorified UI with a 3D model. Once the endgame result screen finishes for everyone, start the next instance of a map vote. Then we can all get to it.

Don't want to continue? The quit match is always there in the ESC menu.

MM just rearranges the same 24 people that are online anyway, at least in my time zone.

Yeah, the whole lobby model would have been great for this game.
  • Makes it easier for the matchmaker to make balanced teams, because individual players can be swapped between matches after roflstomps.
  • Allows a local economy as seen in CounterStrike (like Salvage Points that are earned after each match) which would allow a Stock Mech game mode (using Salvage Points to buy better stock mechs after each match, losing your stock mech when you die).
  • Makes it faster to get in a new match during prime time. Sometimes, MM would maybe need to kick players if a specific slot can't be filled. But maybe not.
