The light nerf was a real blow for me. The class was already struggling and I just don't see how this made the game better. If this is the first step in some long term goal then let us know what that goal is. Is information warfare supposed to strengthen the class in the near future? Was this nerf something that had to happen to keep lights from being OP once Ghost Heat 2.0 arrives? Are you going the "tonnage = power" direction like with CW or "#AllMechsMatter" like in quickplay? Haters are going to hate, but most of us are pretty reasonable, we all care about the franchise, and we all want you to succeed. Give us something to rally behind. I honestly believe you have a dartboard in your office to decide balance, it's hard to think otherwise when we see things like a Locust 1v nerf or a Mist Lynx UAC quirk. Lastly, I'd like to add that the recent participation of your staff in the forums was very much appreciated. From what I saw people were pretty welcoming. I hope that continues.

Maybe "this" is the information warfare they have been working on ?

Maybe they wanted to increase the size of most lights so that decals would be more easily visible on them.

..except for the Locust.. No decals for you!

I've pretty much just recently quit playing, and the light class uni-nerf was one of the things that did it for me (among other things I won't go into). Lights were my second favourite class to play (meds being my fav) and when they got relegated to barely useful, my already waning interest in the game got worse.

Lights and Assaults always seem to get the short end of the stick. Go heavy or go home it seems....

After that "We don't need/want you input" thing, PGI seems to have really tried upping their PR. I've seen more developer interaction in the last few days than I've seen the entire rest of this year. The responded pretty quickly to the "Locust OP" threads....... with the nerf bat sadly.... I don't want to be all "the sky is falling", I want to buy a mech pack, but that's hard to justify when we have zero idea what's around the corner.

CW3 was the crushing blow for me. Then this.... Lights are the only weight I like to play, so right now that means Locust, unless I want to snipe and poke all match. It's always good dropping with you, hopefully our Mechwarrior cravings strike at the same time.

Likewise adam. I intend to still keep an eye out for where the game goes and will lurk around the forums and may come back to playing if some positive changes happen (won't hold my breath). Interested to see where this whole "power-draw" system thing goes and might come back to see how that works.

The long term plans for MWO are need-to-know only. As players, we will only be told what is happening next month.

Sometimes, Russ will do a "Town Hall" (i.e. a PGI-sponsored interview) where he tells us some stuff they're working on, but that he can't tell us anything about.

And then he will tease us with some new mech pack, because that's so thrilling, at this point.

Then there must be a new Mechpack on the horizon. It's everytime the same game. As soon as they want to sell you something, they come out of their holes, talk about plans and act as if they'd care. And when people bought the new pack, they vanish again.
This has happened so many times now, I really can't believe why people still get their hopes up.

I think they realized that just mech packs is not a sustainable business model this is why they introduced supply caches.

If they put half as much effort in to the game as they do mech packs I'd spend crazy money on this game. The Viper is exactly my kind of mech, but I'm sticking to my guns on not spending real money here till some core problems are addressed. No more bells and whistles PGI.

Everyone is drawn to something different. Some people like lots of daka, some like LRMs, I like going fast and brawling. It's not like the Kodiak losing some quirks, or this particular mech getting smacked with the nerf bat.... while that sucks, there's always some new mech to fill it's place. In this case an entire playstyle was wiped from the game. The only reason the Locust can kind of still fill the role are all the scrubs in quickplay who can't aim. I'm sure you can understand that.

wrong. you can play with meds and heavies the same. just not as fast.
you should know it as i flanked you with much slower mechs than lights.
its not as easy as with lights, you cant run away as easy so you gotta make sure what you are doing.
thats the only difference. so dont tell me the playstyle is dead, a cicada is just as fast as a light with same armament.
quickdraws can be made very fast, dragons too.
they are simply not as unforgiving as the lagshielded lights.

The "We don't need/want your input" thing was in April.

The recent presence of Dev's in the forums was in relation two two specific topics (goodie crates: Tina; and the UAC10 fix/nerf: Paul). The goddie crates mechanism is function that requires players buy MC (presumably most with real $) and the UAC10 issue directly impacts the most powerful mech in the game that is still only available for $.

I don't believe the Devs sudden presence is due to any fallout or perception of error that they need to address from something that occurred in April or even that they became aware of more recently. No, I think the Devs are here because the issues that they are concerned about have the potential to immediately affect PGI's bottom line, and thus they know they need to at least present the perception of damage control and concern to minimize direct $ losses.

To be fair: In the the goodie crate thread where Tina directly responded to Bishop (http://mwomercs.com/...estion-for-pgi/), she seemed to indicate that they tend to respond to those topics where there is "a big discussion" and about "specific features" (on the other hand, we've all seen "big" "specific" discussions that were totally ignored). So even if my cynicism above regarding their interest due to $ impact is correct both of those threads were indeed pretty specific. Perhaps my cynicism is misplaced and all we need to do is have lots of topics in a general area of concern but with each thread focused on a specific item of interest. Food for thought I guess.
