To be fair: In the the goodie crate thread where Tina directly responded to Bishop (http://mwomercs.com/...estion-for-pgi/), she seemed to indicate that they tend to respond to those topics where there is "a big discussion" and about "specific features" (on the other hand, we've all seen "big" "specific" discussions that were totally ignored). So even if my cynicism above regarding their interest due to $ impact is correct both of those threads were indeed pretty specific. Perhaps my cynicism is misplaced and all we need to do is have lots of topics in a general area of concern but with each thread focused on a specific item of interest. Food for thought I guess.
I guess the 20 or so Long Tom discussions didn't deserve a response.
I think the Kodiak was the high water mark.
I don't know the numbers but i'd guess the Viper sales weren't all that great.
Maybe a downward trend?

I can't believe the Long Tom made it in to game in that state. Not only that but that it lasted so long before being addressed and still isn't fixed. It's so universally considered a joke, that I just can't imagine someone actually making the decision to release it.

Ah! But they did respond. Hasn't the LT been nerfed twice (or maybe three times, I can't keep track of its level of horribleness)? See they responded to it by changing it. In their eyes (apparently) that thre is top notch interaction and responsiveness to the customer concerns.
Sigh. I can't even defend them WITH sarcasm.

I have been playing PS4 games most of this year, though in the spring I was quite active on MWO for a stretch.
The real fix (the bone tracing whatever fix) for HSR was both a huge boon, and a great calamity for MWO, on one hand it is nice to see your shots actually take, but on the other it threw a giant Sherlock Holmes magnifying glass on the errors in the shooting mechanics of this game in relation to Battletech.
PGI has been ignoring this for too long, and it has cost them dearly. Instead we see huge pushes for espurts and this tourny, both of which put me off.
Look, Russ likes the shooty part of game design. I mean, look at his history. Marine Sharpshooter, etc. In Russ mind, the shooty part feels "finished" or at least to the point he does not want to spend ANY time on a large change, and the power draw system is simply a response to years of player complaints and the creeping acknowledgement that some basic play pillar needs to change in order to rectify the population numbers.
hell he didn;t even want to touch the weapon stuff, he tried to do info pillar first.
Russ enjoys shooting stuff in video games, and so besides new robots to shoot, and occasinally a new change of scenery, he sees little else to worry about. It's why we haven't seen a whole big ol change to that system, but we HAVE seen non stop changes over and over and over to the minor spreadsheet numbers. keep it fresh, so to speak, but not actually change anything.
To Russ, the game was completed at launch, and to be honest, probably for him before clans came about. There is robots to shoot, what else do these guys want? Years later, I think he still asks himself that. He is both happy and depressed that MWO has been successful, in that it has been a good income for him, but he hasn't been able to start a new Marine Sharpshooter game(they did try, remember?).
At least, that has been my take on the MWO for a while now. I haven't been inspired to log in, for a long time. I am sure I will come back, it's Mechwarrior! But for now I need a lengthy break. I hope the game stays lights on long enough to see my return.

I see alot of posts like this that seem to have inside knowlage of the workings of PGI and the mind of russ, i apologise for singling yours out but i have to wonder where they get this information from. How do they know that this game is not everything it was ever set out to be? that being a free to play game that is designed to make you pay up on entry and perhaps a short time afterwards. If people decide to stay and play long term thats all well and good but the business model is about extracting one quick purchase before they get bored and leave. I think that is just as likely as the endless talk of the poor inept PGI who couldnt find their bottom with both hands.

We say PGI all the time but we all know its the captain of the ship that sets the course. Russ has a love hate relationship with the players, mostly hate. He resents the base. That much is clearly obvious. Why I always said its long past time for him to be an adult and step aside.

Some of us have been around since Closed Beta.
There used to be plenty of material about where the game was "supposed to go".
The game, as it exists, can't even be described as a shadow of what those diaries described.

you know, after reading some novels again (gray death trilogy), im perfectly fine with what PGI done.
i play shadow hawks and stuff since ages. im fine with everything.

if you dont like your difficulty high well.... then lights certainly dropped out. i can say my commando's give me alot of fun.
propably because i see them as little gnarrly gnomes throwing needles at everyone. quite a funny picture i have all time playing them.
its just a game that PGI is keeping interesting with changes. not everyone likes em, not everyone understands em but srsly. why bother. shadow hawks been bloody tall, grffins been, thunderbolts had thicker armor than most heavier mechs and that large laser the thunderbolt had was one of the nastiest in the whole battletech universe.
sadly, we cant have different versions of weapons because it would be fugly to balance.
thats why PGI does things to things.
if you get your fun spoiled because of such thing then you sort some errors out in your own thoughts. in the end, not the mechs change. you alone are thinking that it really made a difference to your mech.
such slight differences arent much noticable at all.
yes, most lights got bigger so play less risky and more as a light should do. skirmishing, running in and out when enemy mechs are distracted. its all you have to do and it still works.
