For whatever reason, PGI has created a game that is INCREDIBLY unstable. every single match there is atleast 1 disconnect, and because your game takes so freaking long to load anything, its nearly impossible to reconnect to a match before the 2min window elapses.

Either a) fix your damn game b ) extend the reconnect window to 5mins or c) remove all penalties related to disconnecting. Im stuck at a stupid 20min timer because your game keeps dropping me. (no, my internet is just fine)

Reconnecting in 2 minutes is indeed impossible for me. Just logging in takes up that time or more. :3

I also wonder what VPN services works with MWO. I know some of them just flat out don't work. :/

Serious question. Are you on Directx 9, or 11? If you are on 11 then you really need to try switching it to DX9. I would get dropped/game crash constantly before that switch.

When you point out unstable a game is and the response is gitgud!! LMAO

Not so much "gitgud" as "fix your potato."

MWO works perfectly stable for most people - but as others have said, it can be very sensitive to problems on your end... MWO does NOT like sharing resources.

I don't have a potato and MWO is still running poorly on a netcode/network front (and it's not like I live far away from their servers either).

Never had a disco issue in any recent memory. So yeah...

I've not had one, but I'm seeing other people either crash, or not even make the match (ping 0) every other game so the instability is there

I find it highly amusing that people like to blame their problems on PGI. For instance, my friend who plays csgo with our group sometimes cannot connect/takes forever to connect to a match, but instead of blaming Valve, he realizes the problem is with him and he is trying to fix it. People should look for a way to fix the problem instead of just blaming PGI. Sure, I've had my client crash before, and give me a flickering display, but a simple driver update fixed it. I've had my internet **** itself, and had time to restart my client and rejoin the match without penalty. My game is fine with TS3, Discord, Steam, and multiple chrome tabs running, and alt tabs fine. I play on a laptop (i5-4200M, gtx 750M).
TL/DR: Not PGIs fault your system is unstable and crashes.

I've had very little problems what so ever with getting disco'ed. I have a stable 40 ping and I'm probably 2k km away from the game servers. More likely your system is choking on something like a failed DX call. I would say more problems are b/c of hardware than their servers. I'm not entirely thrilled with the cryengine version they are running but only problems I have is pushing good fps in 4k. Stuck mostly in 1440p at max settings with the occasional 3D error..

I've been playing less. But I haven't DCed that I can remember in recent months.

Just remember that dropping into FW matches (Invasion specifically) take much longer than any other match type and the chances of losing people in that process does tend to increase.

To those that don't think this is not an issue:

The nearest I can come to discovering why there are so many problems with logging in and DCing is that it is due to packet loss.

But packet loss happens all the time in lots games and application and doesn't cause a crash that results in a penalty to the not-at-fault user. That crashing due to packet loss is instability in the client and that is the responsibility of PGI.

I suffer this all the time, to the point where I am very unsatisfied (verging on anger) and beginning to regret my previous 'Mech Pack purchases.

I've had zero disconnects of late, have you upgraded all your drivers and checked your isp?

Unfortunately, not everyone has access to cooperative ISPs. People living outside NA have their routing bounced all over the place before it arrives at the server.

Indeed, in many parts of the world a good part of routing isn't even under the control of the ISP that provides the internet, but under the control of government backbones and large telecommunications companies.

Under those conditions, some packet loss is to be expected and the client should be able to deal with it.

That or they could be smart and add a screen on login before loading the mechlab that allows you to reconnect to any matches you became disconnected from so you can skip any unnecessary processing.

Nope. that would be acknowledging there is an issue with crashing/DCing. Which never happens judging by the PGI shills posting in this thread. I mean I *never* see any discos ever in MWO.

It's extremely rare for me too. Maybe one match in 50-70 i get a disconnect.
