So the DevBlog1 stated that as a faction player earns LPs they increase in rank. This gives access to "membership in special units", among other things.
I'm imagining that faction players might start in "F" rated units like militias and as they progress they get access to line units like Crucis Lancers or Lyran Guards. At the tippy-top of the list, they might get the chance to enroll in elite factional units like the 1st Federated Suns Armored Cavalry or Davion Assault Guards.
Now, using FedSuns as an example, there are permanent deployment zones for most units, and certainly for the militias. A Capellan March Militia unit will not be deployed in the Draconis March, and vice-versa.
I would like to see specific units garrisoned on specific worlds.
If these units can only respond rapidly to operations within one jump (30 light years) of their base of operations, then that solves the problem of massive coordinated defense of invasions. This also goes a long way to solving the issue of faction-size imbalance: the Capellan Confederation is tiny compared to the FedSuns (and according to the State of the Inner Sphere survey, CC will have 1/5th the number of players as FS). CC is way more concentrated geographically than FS though, so there might be many worlds within one jump distance to receive invasions.
This makes it very tough to attack CC.

sounds good...and maybe a player in a certain faction-unit should be able to "assign" for a different unit, but then run through a "decission phase"(maybe 24 hours?) in which the gameystem takes a look at how many players are in there already, and give it a go or not. I think it could be a bit thrilling, if there is a war going, and you are waiting for the "o.k." to be set into a certain unit

if u know what i mean xD

I would also like the idea that a good merc company could end up with their own world. Given the size of some of the organised gaming clans + recruitment in game it could be quite feasible.Depending on the game mechanics being organised is going to be a great advantage.
