We just got the Catapault, it's about the right size with the right mobility, according to PGI. You should be happy.

Maybe, but I'm not buying it. And right now, I doubt a lot of people would buy it, seeing how unpopular light mechs are. These past few days, there's been like 5+ threads on page 1 of the GD forum about how terrible light mechs are. That's a first in MWO history, really. I think there's more awareness than ever about how under-powered light mechs are. Especially after the rescaling.

Also, I imagine a lot of people (like myself) have a sour taste in their mouth after paying as much for a 45 tonner as for a 100 tonner, and then the Fail Hawk turned out to be the worst medium mech in the whole game. Perhaps even the worst mech in the game, full stop.

If PGI tries to sell a new light mech, it better be $10 for the basic pack, otherwise I don't imagine a lot of people will be buying. Over time, they've shown that they don't really care how unpopular light mechs are.

Will we ever get a new light?

This is PGI and MWO we are talking about here. Of course we will get a new light at some point, and some of the marks will purchase it. Some will even laud it. Some will even put up threads explaining how the rest of us need to git gud so we can appreciate how awesome the new meta that this new mythical light represents is. There is no doubt in my mind that there will be another light, because no matter how much we deny it, many of us are stupid pokemech addicts with little or no self control and PGI knows that, and knows that we need a hit.

I think there are enough little laser hoars running around. It is sad we dont see the Panther variant with the AC's running around more. I'd figured that would have been a great mid to long range harasser mech. Instead we have Jenner SRM "from behind" mega-alpha leg humpers, tougher than nails Cheeter mechs, and the ever zig-zag pain-in-the-backside Locusts.

So.... NO MOAR LAYZUR HOARS PLZ THX!

But seriously, the piranha is problematic as it does not even has enough variants for the current timeline.

if we could get rid of the system requiring 3 mechs to master a chassis we could have nice mechs like this or a supernova.

the reason i would like the piranha is i think it might be viable, it would go the max speed (the eng cap would probably be 200) and it would be able to bring like 12 mg 2t of ammo and 2 flamers with that eng.. it would be a light mech that might actualy not need quirks to be playable, and realy 12 mgs that would just be so cool to run (pun intended)
