And you'll be waiting another five months for that.

Nope PGI - not a single dollar !

Over and out !

Why does your not spending money require telling everyone who reads the forums ? Does it bring up your street cred or something ?

- Since supply cash arrive in game I think about having less luck than I think... after getting some supply crates after victory, 2 after event (and i even by some keys) and some after MC purchase - I, even from crates with 5 good prize and 1 not good weapon, got... yeah - weapon. Crates with not usable items I sell immediately to get c-bill and not loose keys. But all other turns and show worst possible result - like 5 - items, premium, c-bill, mech bay or mech, engine and... narc - it would be narc. Maybe adding some progress bar like "luck" which fills after each opened crate would make thing better. Like when it fills up - you can use it and rise chance to win some better prize like - mechbay, engine or mech, by pressing button - "Use my collected luck". Something like that, if chance to win so low even for those players who just got new "Supply cash mechanic"...

Crazy all the complaining. It's a deal, a marketing scheme to encourage people to buy MC packages right now. Everyone everywhere does this. PGI has a set price for everything that you can use real money for in the game. Those are the prices, I recommend never paying those prices. Wait for a sale or special offer since they have at least on a month. Yes it may take a year to get the offer you want, but if you don't want to wait pay full price. If you don't like the offer don't participate. This is just what they and all business do to get spending up. In PGI's case they do early adopter specials, bundles, special offers, and percentage off sales. Those should never be complained about.

That is what this special offer is, a marketing attepmt to increase spending. At least they consider what people want, for example the mechbays. People have been asking for a sale on those for a long time. Technically this isn't a sale, but they through them in extra for free cause they know people want them. Technically it is darn nice of them.

So if you need MC now is a good time to buy as you get a few free mechbays (and supply caches and keys - not sure they are of any value as I am not sure the % chance of getting anything good from them, never opened one, but could be cool). If you don't like it wait till they run the deal where you get 30% more MC per purchase instead.

Also all the number crunching means little to me. No matter how you crunch the numbers PGI is making money, they wouldn't be doing this if they weren't. Yes, there are pricing balance issues in this game when you crunch any of there numbers, but they are consistent. For example why does it cost the same to get six 65 ton mechs as it does to get eight 90 ton mechs when doing the early bird specials. No clue, but it doesn't really matter the price is the price, and it is consistent. Besides the incentives with those are all the extras and early bird rewards.

I digress, bottom line is they are having a sale/special offer. Take advantage or don't, but why complain about it. If you want to complain start a different thread about bad pricing, unfair pricing, too expensive, or whatever you want to call it about the standard prices.

Doing it here is like complaining about the cost canned goods at the grocery store on double coupon day!

Obviously, this is nothing but a cash grab.

Everybody knows that PGI receives approximately 3.8 Million CAD per year in government grants, specifically under federal code OR-471LBH:IIV, which is more than enough to keep the game going. They are not improving the because the grant conditions do not stipulate the requirement for added features.

All the sale money goes directly into Russ's pocket and PGI does not need the playerbase's money to keep the operation going. Anyone who buys MC or MechPacks are not doing anything for the health of this game.

GET WITH THE PROGRAM, PEOPLE! LEARN THE TRUTH!

Well be thankful for that mr tinfoil, otherwise there'd be no mechwarrior game at all for PCs now, or for another decade.

PeeWrinkle, you do understand that there are people in this thread who are trying to "rally" people against PGI and make them change the game to their own liking, even when there are several different camps of people with their own unique directions.

Imagine trying to build a single automobile that makes the family sedan, minivan, pickup truck, and sports coupe crowds all happy at once. That is what the customer base is trying to do with PGI.

- It's not about whining... it's about making better impression. Like - new gamer open like 5-10-15 crates and won something not useful but nice anyway (to charge curiosity). Cheap engine, low-cost mech (or not popular mech at all to make player try it), 3 day premium (anyway it waste prize if you have no time to play right now but timer still ticking). Something like that. Add some luck bar to use collected bonuses from each opened box to rise luck when opening 50th or 100th crate with higher chance to win. That force someone buy keys and open, not sell if they can spend money. And that can work for money flow also.
Now I fell more "I have no luck at all" and my interest in supply box gets lower. I just buy some mechbay I need, to put there some mech I like and love, and keep some empty if I found some other models of mech good enough to try. All new supply I collect to see what inside or sell if there less than 5 interesting prizes (like warhorns, some pretty item, really expensive weapon or low cost engine.)

First off, none forces you to buy anything, so don't complain.
Second, those extra goodies are extra, on top of what you normally get for your cash, so if you get something for free, don't compain.

I did some statistics on the crates I got for the big package.
12 of the 38 crates I got had a chance for a mech in them.
Out of 4 identical crates, 2 times I got exactly the same price, 2 times I got different prices. So it is not (always) the exact same price you get per crate.
38 crates yielded:
0x Mechs
1x Mechbay
1x Premium Time
2x Supply Cache Key Bundles
7x C-Bills
0x GXP
0x MC
23x Weapons or Mech Components
4x Omnipods
0x Cockpit Items
0x Engines

Sadly, they do not. Their price politics is, quite honestly, all over the place.

MC? Sales? $% off? +%MC? MC bundles?
MC mech prices? Ingameshop? Packages?
Premiumtime? buying with MC or included with bundles? How much of a bundle is the premium time actually?
MC worth how much $ actually?
Hero'mech worth how much? 15$ each per add on? or 2500 to 5000~ MC? MC is how much worth again?
Still not confused?

Black Widow ingame is 5250 MC, or depending what MC package(s) you bought, anything between 20,99$ to 29,19$. Not even took any form of addition MC value or discount into consideration. Not taking the ingame price discount (up to -50%) into consideration.
Not taking into consideration, that for the lowest price, you have give 99,95$ no matter what.

If i would factor everything in, a Blackwidow ingame goes for as little as 8,40$ up to 29,19$ (for the same freaking mech).

Black Widow hero add'on is (including mechbay) 15$. Although, one has to buy at least a 20$ package first (3 mechs + mechbays + 30 premium time + cockpit stuffz)

so tell me, what actually is that black widow worth?

Their pricing system, including sales with 3 currencies and 3 shops involved is utterly horse sh**.

Actually, 4 shops, forgot steam.

I'm going to spend the 100.00. I'm going to do it, because it's a good deal, because there's no other game like this on the market, and because this game provides my time limited life with some very valuable amusement.

On a sad side note. I agree that this game could be so much more than it is currently.

Problem was that when PGI was trying to make a single player campaign game, Microsoft refused to let PGI create a PS3 port of the game. That was probably the biggest nail in the coffin for the to-be-MW: Reboot. No publisher would throw *their* money at a single player game for a niche crowd on a single console platform during an economic recession.

If MS was smart, they would drop the restrictions and let PGI make the game they wanted to make with a healthy financial backing and none of the F2P strings attached.

Well, "proper mechwarrior game" was meant as a sidehook toward what MS considered a proper mechwarrior game.. U know the game we don't talk about often.

Sheesh. Seems like there is always bad blood when PGI announces some kind of sale. If you don't want to spend real money then don't. Honestly I thought the supply cache thing was kind of neat. Though it seems like 50% of the time the person who gets the last kill of the game gets the cache :P.
