Wait wait I've got something for this.....damn now its gone. I have had fun with "stupid" build like 4 erppc warhawks that team gave me crap for. And anything a Kit fox runs can count for this, just cause you show up in a Kit Fox and peopel think you're derping. Which brings me to....anything Fox With A Shotgun runs, since he likes to experiment with some seemingly sh1t suboptimal build in his Foxes.

I've had pugs compliment me on my ERPPC Warhawk because I could sort of make it work. I very politely discouraged them from trying the same, because it's basically hardmode for clan assaults.
At least the PPChawk and wubhawk don't instantly become paperweights if you lose the right torso, unlike some other builds.

Some of the most fun I have had is with stupid builds. Since the c-bill nerf and insane TTK that's pretty much gone now.

For some stupid reason I thought it would be fun to outfit a Mad Dog with the biggest UAC I could. Thus was born the beast carrying a cUAC/20 in one arm, an ERML in the other and 2xsrm4 2xsrm6 in the torsos. Set it up to fire 10srms, 10srms, the UAC and the laser in different groups and ready to go. If I survive to the end of the battle I'm usually out of ammo so it's not quite the smartest build, but if I'm out of ammo the enemy will have suffered a ton of hurt so that's OK.

There is also the twin uac5 wang build which leaves no weight spare for energy backup.

Damm i had some good matches with that back in the day.

Now i think about it,,,, i might get this one out later... when im finished revisiting the AL.

I dont have any screens now, but ive used to run 300xl 4 ppc and 3 mg mad 3r.

Fun and even works, as long as nothing heavier than locust decides to hug you.

Screenshots are always problematic. Even the most ridiculous builds can work ... once in a while.

My favourite "bumblebee build" -- one that shouldn't fly, but does -- is my JM6-A. Twin AC/5's, Quad LRM5s.

Played as the fire support 'mech that never stops shooting. No LOS: LRM's. No lock: AC's. As often as possible: both AC's and LRM's at the same time.

Basically the stock Jager-A, but optimised for MWO by switching AC/2's to AC/5's and LRM15's to twin-packs of LRM5's.

Had the same build and had a lot of fun with it. It's gone now.

archer with 3 lpl and 5 lrm5s. its amazing how many people give you the bum rush thinking you are a lerm boat only to regret it thanks to flashing blue death ray.

I've been running my Wolfhounds with their stock STD engines and I actually really enjoy it. I regularly get 600-700 damage games and being able to lose a side torso has been worth the 90-100kph speed. I just play it like a (slightly) smaller medium.

I suppose this qualifies...
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...427f6166d4ddde3

Vindicator 1X with 3 A/C2s :D. It works rather nice with the 30% ballistic cooldown too :)

It was a fun ride that was pretty effective at making PUGs scatter in Tier 3 and Tier 4. When I got to Tier 2, less enemy units tended to respond as hilariously to the barrage of fire.

Still, it was the best fun I could find with a VND-1X build.

6 MG king crab.

You have to see it to believe it but trust me it's one of the dumbest builds I've ever used.

OR.

Anything and everything you can put on a Vindicator.

Vindicator proved to be much better than Phoenix Hawk, Vindi is only second worst medium in the game.

What do you mean you don't mean you believe it? That's like x4 UAC on Kodiak, but with Ballastics quirks instead of Ultra fire for the extra DPS.

There's nothing stupid about that build if you can shoot.

My fav dumb builds at the moment:

HBK-IIC 2xLB20x
Kit Fox 3MPL + 4MG
ON-VA 2LPL + 4LRM5

These are terrible on paper, but if you play them right they're fun and effective.

The generic missile cooldown quirk on the ON1-VA means that with a cooldown module and fastfire you can chain out 4xLRM5 like a Catapult A1 with 6xLRM5. With the added benefit of having short range guns to back it up with (I run it with 2xML and an AC20).

I guess everything I run would be considered "dumb" since I run stock IS (+DHS because Heat is broken-sauce) and lore Omni configs...
