Lights Fight! Leaderboard Event!

There wasn't as many Skill-'Mechs looking to farm all the Lights that are inevitably going to show up, but there was enough 'Mechs that didn't pack an army's worth of armor and weaponry, so the Lights had enough decent targets and a bit of wiggle room, since everyone and their mother and their pet turtle wasn't able to one-shot them...
On the other hand, this is probably a good spot for the Heavies that are able to easily shake off the streaks and can in turn farm the streakers, that were build for a single purpose.

I'm gonna start calling them lack-of-skill-crows. I have yet to feel any fear from the streak/splat/laser builds in QP in any of my light mechs. Most of the time they are running from me so I'm already winning.

The worst part is that they reduced the MC prize by half only because they are giving you these crappy caches. The MC I used to win in these events will not ever go into a cache key, so why are they replacing one with the other is beyond me.
Of course they don't have to give you anything. Unless they really want to keep any sort of playerbase in the not-so-long run.

It is not a good idea to balance a mech of his score in some event.

Well, things turned out like I thought they might. I succeeded in earning the available Personal Challenge Rewards, and PGI definitely succeeded in maintaining Active Player Retention as I was hoping they would do. So I can say the Personal Challenge hit right on the button.
As for the LeaderBoard, I can't really give a useful Review at all. Its' formula is too bloodthirsty, and my skill level is barely high enough that I'll only be able to do mediocre-to-well with a Mech when a team that I've been placed with doesn't leave me out to dry. So I can't really rate this properly.
On other notes, I have learned an unfortunate-yet-rather-important lesson from this event. The lesson is that other people are unable to realize when they need to turn around because they're being backflanked by the opposing team, even if they're being notified of the change in situation by a Support-Style Pilot. Supports like myself will effectively be left to die to Light & Medium Mechs, because nobody will communicate their directional intention to the Support-Style Pilots. Even further, the "NASCAR Strategy" is useless when the queue is loaded mostly with Light Mechs, and yet there are people who will still not understand this and blow the round for several of their teammates by causing their death through not listening.
I have also learned one more nasty lesson. Catapults and Novas are way beyond too squishy with the recent OverKill Quirk-Nerfs to their Chassis. Being easily mowed over by an SRM Locust or SRM Jenner-IIC which can sneak up behind them all too easily is simply something that should not happen to those Heavy & Medium Chassis. It's just like I thought, 25% of the Mechs which I have put in severe effort to earn have instead been rendered useless and put out from under me. At least those two Chassis which I have mentioned need a 50% undo to their last Quirk Changes, or they're going to end up unused by a fair number of pilots. I know that I will still be forced to have to use them anyway, and likely die over it, for they will be the only options that will be fitting at certain points in time.
Anyway, see you all at the next Event. Excuse me at this point, because I'm worse than severely depressed by the wipeout that I just took in the last round I was placed into. It was what you would call a 'Spirit Breaker', as I got to do effectively nothing in the round which I happened to be placed in. Being wiped out by Light Mechs in a manner that negates your being able to do anything while in a Heavy is never funny.

Used to work great with all variants.
Now there slow, sluggish, and very much up to quick death.
dmg and precision are gone only doing 20-33% from before downgrades.
from the "litlest helper".
PS: why not do a leaderbord on matchscore.

i think it will be good to see how many Lights come out,
it will most likely be a Mess, but a Awesome Destructive Mess,
Lights Running Event = getting Eaten by SkillCrows/Other Streak Hunters,
SkillCrows/Hunters Hunting Lights = getting Eaten by Heavies/Assaults looking for Easy Cbills,
Heavies/Assaults Hunting Light Hunters = getting Eaten by Lights Running the Event,
Everything comes Full Circle it seems,

Lucky shot... LOL
Perhaps they'll fix all these issues by the next Patch? Maybe they're using this event to get data on what mistakes they have yet to correct. Or not... LOL
On other notes, I'm currently finding my Support-Style Catapult CPLT-C4 to be a little too squishy. I wonder if people are failing to use teamwork, and just leaving it out to die.

They are not able to repair all fok ups they made. It is impossible to remake so much rubbish work they did ... Mechwarrior Connecting.

You've gotta be kidding, what with the number of Jenners and their IIC Cousins that I've seen blasting other people away during this event!

Update: My status is changing, but my score is stuck at 1203. My lowest score in the top 10 is 159 (Don't judge me). So if all of them were 159 then my score would 1590 right?
Also FTR, I've had better games so my score should be going up. Yet my ranking goes down because it's stuck.

Yep... Very balanced to the player base.
If you look closely at the leaderboards, you'll notice that top 5 are mostly tier 1 pilots.
Yet, you're thinking in the right direction.
When you're playing in prime time and see several exceptional pilots on both teams, chances are nobody is getting good scores.
So your best bet is to play at odd times. You'll get less top 5 pilots. And the way matchmaker works, if waiting time exceeds some value, it starts looking for pilots in lower tiers. So you'll probably get easier enemies and less aggressive teammates.
Weekdays are the best in that aspect. I remember there was major leaderboard movement during Monday morning-afternoon period. And that movement came to a halt when people started coming home in the evening.
