I've been smashing lights with my loyalty centurion. Most lights can't dodge an AC 20 and some SRMs.

The funny thing is last night I had four maches with 12-1 with me being the only death on my team. Sometimes youjust get bored with everyone thinking they are snipers so you just gotta mix it up.

Hah. I do the same thing, the ac20 is a deceptively simple weapon to gimp a light with, the shell is nearly the size of a locust itself. Give me a light mech cannon, no, I mean a cannon that fires light mechs. That way four locusts can sit tidy in the belly of my atlas until I plunck them in an arc towards the enemy.

If you want a truly effective light killer (that is also effective on Heavies/Assaults)...

Once again, I need to point out the primary issue that Streaks have in this game. Alistair Winter's little diagram about Lurms is the easiest way to sum it up:

and yet despite this, anyone with any modicum of skill will still be far more effective with standard SRMs...fancy that.

Now maybe I'd embrace the "Have to hold the perfect lock" mentality...if locks were instant. Since they are not, and in fact, easily countered by NUMEROUS means, to require them to be such would take a mediocre weapon, and nerf it to abject uselessness.

One of the main problems is Artemis significantly reduces lock on time.

The reticle lock on mechanic needs a lot of work. The fact that it has to be no where near the target to maintain lock is a problem. It makes trying to evade one damn near impossible.

I haven't been killed by a streakboat since this event started. I've been piloting my Jenner IIC. I've had three come after me though, and that resulted in three solo kills for me. I'm running ER Medium Lasers on my JR7-IIC-2 which used to run Small Pulse Lasers before the rescale when knife-fighting in a Jenner was possible. After the rescale I gave my Jenner IIC a try and found that even a mediocre pilot could now one-shot the massive thing in a brawl. Switched out for the Medium Lasers and turned it into a medium range harasser and haven't looked back, I think I actually like it better than the old SPL build. Anyway, point is, streakboats keep thinking that they can go get that juicy Jenner IIC. You know, that Jenner IIC that has an optimum range of over 400 meters and is at least 50kph faster than your fastest streakboat? Yeah. I'm enjoying farming streakboats. I've always hated them and now I'm getting to kill them more often than I usually do. Every time I nail one I also tell the pilot over all chat to die in a fire. I derive even greater joy out of it if it so happens that I kill the streakboat early enough in the game that I know he got no damage, match score, kills, CBills, or XP for his effort.

That's actually not such a bad idea, in MW4 streaks simply homed in on the targeted area, but since they were stream fired you could spread the damage. Having each missile home in on a random point near where you're aiming and turn towards the target once they get there would also help spread damage while making them actually aim-able. Maybe we could use the lock on to instead tighten the spread gradually?
