I thought it might be neat if there was some action needed when going over rough terrain to keep from falling, and then an action to make your mech get up faster after falling.
I was thinking some key presses that would shift your mech's weight to keep it stable during these activities. Leaning to far right? compensate weight back to the left... weight leaning too far forward? tilt back, etc. The heavier the mech, the more challenging/slower this would be, as the lighter mechs would be more agile.
I just thought it'd be neat to add some interactivity to the physical aspecs of the mech, and give a stronger sense of weight to the mechs.
Possibly this same mechanic could be applied if taking a hard turn at full speed. How much you'd have to compensate would be related to momentum, so a function of weight and speed.

im not being sarcastic.
seriously i like this idea.

From what we're currently able to see, the devs have done a good job of conveying the weight of a Mech moving. I don't know if adding an extra element that relates to both in-game physics and player piloting would make it in at this late stage.

I do NOT want a 'push X to not flip over' function.
Ever.
No matter what the key is.

Ah, no thank you. Going to be hard enough aiming with the crazy machine bouncing around on that rough terrain, let alone having to worry bout hitting a "don't f myself' button.

I think some idea for the gyro in another thread was like that if you are in danger of falling down you have to compensate to avoid falling down like a cros in a circle and its more or less wildly moving to different directions and you have to keep it in the middle....
if i remember correctly

There might be some sorta piloting skill function in the game. We'll just have to wait for the game to release to find out.
