Yeah I remember one of those clans that just trolled, but I don't see them or their members on these forums anymore. Just because they beat up PGI staff members in game, we now have this god awful PSR.

To be fair, we had Elo first and those "trolls" you speak of beat up on PGI before we even had that or separate group and solo queues.

This is just a symptom of a much bigger problem - declining player base. There is no longer enough of them to sustain playing within or +-2 of your tier. They need the whole lot now to MM.

Anyone who spent even a cent on this game, pray with all your might that PGI renews the licence in 2017.

I came back after a year and am having fun. Appeared in T4, sadly my bar is rising ...

No idea about the population issue now, but game is more fun now compared to the times of jumping highlanders and alpha strikes of 6 ER PPC boats. Although some of the maps are weird.

Game always had potential and more so to me now for newbies if the Tier system works. They just really have to keep the T1 and T2 people out of T5 games.

Getting face stumped will cause any player to rage quit fast.

So, I feel that really lumping the Tiers together might be ok for the lower 3 Tiers but not the first two.

Last official word was that they had the license through '18. So he's either uninformed, joking, or venting. Having the license and making enough money to continue development are two different things though.

The number beside the T isnt as important as you might think. Anyone can offer a mediocre performance but still get enough matchscore by leeching damage behind the team with a big enough mech to keep raising his psr xp even is slowly.

I have always felt that a skill based MM was a really bad idea. On one hand, with a good skill based MM, good players really never get a chance to stand out. I mean if your a really good player but you always play only with people who are just as good as you, then you become an just an average player who can't stand out.

On the other hand, like the OP states if your a bad player and only play against other bad player then your never going to improve, rather you just become good a being a bad player.

I seriously mean this. About 6-7 years back I had a friend talk me into playing Adult league Ice Hockey. At the time I started I didn't even know how to Ice Skate. His solution to that problem with to make put on my gear and play in full games with him. Everyone was better than me and sure, I pissed off a whole hell of alot of people who were annoyed I couldn't carry my own weight. However after only a few months of this, my skill improved to the point I was actively invited to join teams and even be part of tournament teams. The reason I improved so fast was because I was playing against people who made me look like a chump and I was forced to increase my skill level or quite bluntly quit playing Ice Hockey.

Point is, that is exactly what needs to be happening with this game. Good players need to be able to stand out and poor players need good player to force them to become good or quite frankly quit the game if they are unable to learn it. At the end of the day this is a competitive game and the training wheels need to come off.

By the way I am a Tier 3 player so this isn't coming from some elitist Tier 1.

That's what happened in MW3 and many other games. The brain actively learns when you are watching someone. That's why we see good players of all types of games get high viewership on Twitch and YouTube. They are entertaining and people are learning while watching.

But for some reason, the devs wants to protect their new players so they think "oh if I'm going to succeed, I need to spend money on hero mechs and add ons."

Kinda feels like a MW game where you are protected by the PSR and by your wallet.

I think that if you drop most people into hardcore games too soon too fast, most will not try hard to excel. They most probably will leave.

So yea I can see why PGI wants to protect them. On the other hand, Mr Viktor has a point.

But to set newbies and bad players against elite level pros is just asking too much from people. Sadly this is entertainment and not a job. And regardless of what people might say, entertainment that is not fun, loses it's enjoyment value fast.

Like for me when I left, because matches that consist of mainly long range jumpboats with gauss and ppcs was/is not fun.

But I agree that they should be let out in the general population after a few games. Just don't put us/them in games with super pro T1s ruling the map.

I am supportive to include 1 or 2 persons of Tier 4/5 level in my games.

Matchmaker never mattered. Blind Chinese guys with chopsticks could put together a better 12 v. 12 with freeze dried crickets than PGI's matchmaker.

Is it true that there are no tier restrictions active now?

This would explain why I had many games lately were half of the team does not even get 150 dmg done.

If one has been paying attention there has been a lot of threads about camping or hiding being a big issue lately.

I don't expect the OP or his brethren to think as it obvious they can't but for the rest of you consider how camping developed in game. It directly relates to the slaughter of weaker/newer players. There needs to be progression in this game of which there is none.

I do hope the OP get his wish though because it means the death of the game and the OP deserves his reward for lack of foresight.
