Streaks

SSRMs can converge into a narrower path as they turn to track a quickly moving target and amass on a single location.

Yup, lights can Fight Streaks, but you need to have Range,
a SkillCrow Can out Brawl any Sub200m Light, but will get eaten by anything bigger than a light,
if too many SkillCrows come out, we may need to Start SkillCrow Hunting season,
i hear Crow Legs are Great, Hunny BBQ or Red Hot,

Looking at the Video perhaps Streaks do move too Fast?
if any Nerf to Streaks i would say MAYBE speed, this would help Faster(lighter) mechs
Slower Mechs dont seem to have a Problem getting hit by streaks,

i have Tested it out alot, tested with a Skill Crow(Striped Armor) 17Tons of ammo,
Chain Fired at an Atlas and recorded the video, played it back at 1/4 Speed and watched,
every volley had only 2 missiles at most hitting a single Component,
i used an Atlas as its the biggest and easiest to follow the missiles,
Take a light (preferably a Jenner or Jenner IIC) into actual matches and find a streak boat. Sometimes they spread all over sometimes almost all hit one spot. And I'm guessing that on the Jenner they all find one spot a lot since even if the streaks are going for STs they end up getting caught in the Jenner CT tractor beam and all hit that. But even without the CT catching missiles it can hit to mostly one spot. Like I said I had a orange leg to no leg from one streak volley just earlier today and there was very little change to the rest of my armor.

The problem with that... is Lights are rarely able to get out of range to fight them. Crows can at least keep the distance close for a bit. Also for the light to do any damage to the streaker they have to be within streak range. Very few lights can effectively fight a streaker outside of streak range.
Lights are not meant for long range poking with the exception of a few selects.
Despite what people say.... streakers are effective against mediums as well. It will be a 1 for 1 trade.... but they can put a hurting on them. Only Heavies and Assaults can really put it to them with little fear.

1 minute after this event, lights queue will go back under 2 numbers % ( i mean no more than 9% ) in matchmaking status.
And after collect all thoses data, in 6 months PGI will make a brainstorming about "how buff lights queue?"
A fix 6 months after this brainstorming.

How I'd fix Streaks so they aren't incredibly overpowered against 20-40 ton mechs and useless against 50-100 ton mechs: Streaks now have identical tracking characteristics to Clan LRMs (except without the upward arc). Therefore, streaks can now miss their intended target. All streaks now fire in streams, identical to Clan LRMs. All streaks now have a slightly higher chance of targeting CT over other components.
Bam. Now lights have slightly better odds at dodging streaks, and streaks are more useful against heavier mechs but still not as good as straight up SRMs. Fixed. Next patch, plz. I'm waiting.

It is strange there was a lot delay between the leadeboards, now suddenly 3 in a row. And I had holidays and stuff. Too bad I hoped I would had time for bringing my beloved adder in a leaderbaord event but that light event and the viper event just hit a very bad tming :/

that happens when you often turn in and move soemhwat vertically, this will amke the streaks align in a more lined fashion and trying to hit all your components they are lcoekd on will force them to "fly" throgh one component. and that causes them to hit the same location.
vs streaks don't twist, FACE THEM. that makes them distribute damage in the worst possible way.

1. They negate a whole weight class.
2. They require zero skills.
3. They are perfectly imbalanced in a Clan vs IS comparison.
4. This imbalance pollutes the scouting mode in faction play.
5. Long-Tom induced queue-drain impacts invasion mode.
Just remove them.

1. no they don't ther eis plenty of light pilots nto havign issues with them, play around the streaks weaknesses which is: lock time, staretime and obstacles. Sure if you run to a streakmech in the open thats your doom, but that is a piloting issue not a weapons fault. All lockwepaons in MWO are basically bad.
2. The yonly require 0 skill when your opponents behaves like a fat turkey istead an agile ostrich. So no thats not an argument thtas an opinion.
3. not really, clans can throw larger volleys for more heat and still have all the no 1. weaknesses.
4. Ask the really good pilots that scout. They neither use streaks nor have issues with streaks, so all that is again just an opinion again and we had already plenty of topics hwo to counter streaks and what matters in scouting.
5. Not sure how this is any related to streaks, except you really think it's the streaks that make one side win the entire scoutings. Theres other reasons for this happening.
So stop trying to tell someone it's about e-peen. It's a about about objectivity, and how many streaks do you see carried in the tournament? They are a bad weapon system, and only easy to use when noobs face noobs because then locktime and staretime are not an issue. But they are a bad system and when I play together with a buddy I win most of my scoutings and we use ferrets.
you are labelles T1 here and you shoudl actually know that.

1. Kind of but not really. What it does counter pretty hard is brawler lights with pug play style, SSRMs are an effective buff of aim. Brawler lights have had a string of nerfs because they have had large impacts on play all the way up to comp level, but since they are easier to hit besides the locust I think they will start returning some quirkage to them to compensate for them being so hard to kill for most of the player base.
2. Basically yeah. They the lurmers of brawl.
3. Yep. There is an imbalance with IS and clan here.
4: Kinda but nope. I assume you mean skillcrows are OP? Well they aren't very good and are a losing tactic in scouting. Unless you are hitting the same group all the time and they are beating you by taking locusts and fast gathering and extracting in which case you might be taking a Jenner IC with SSRMs.. other wise you'll get rekt by daddy GRF all if you take skillcrows teams. The kinda part is that most people who play this game also aren't very good, so SSRMs buff their aim to non potato levels so they are at least doing dmg, while the other potatoes getting SSRMed are still on the potato aim.
5: While no one really cares, all long tom does is a kill queue for the planet. SSRMs only impact on scouting because bads and a l2p issue.

Seriously, most of the time when people whine about "lag shield" they should be whining about their own incompetence at hitting a moving target.
