I used to dream more. I used to fit right in and contribute to these threads. I have had the makings of one of the most epic pilot cockpit chair/battlestations for this game(including my 52" plasma screen) in a pile in the corner for a couple years now.

[sidetrack] Dude, if you have a decent cockpit setup and (hopefully) TrackIR, then come fly DCS. If you like flight sims at all, you will LOVE it. [/sidetrack]

I really think there is a way to get what we want, but I understand the business side, which is why I think if PGI gave us some tools, we could make this work. The number of gifted coders, designers, and enthusiasts here is huge. I am willing to bet a bunch of people would jump at a chance to make their version of CW/FW (whatever we are calling it now) if they could get a large group to try it out.

Starting to get into group play and after spending a full week reading and trying to figure out a dropdeck I understood something. I have no clan mechs to speak of and my IS line up is all configured for solo. Did the math and figured to give it a go I had to drop some coin. Serious coin.

Then the personal debate began and being a frugal yankee I am I had to eat a lot of uniciorn poo to start to believe in the game again to start spending.

I read a lot more and than understood 99% is players contributing and PGI is no where to be found anywhere. I watched the brownnosers videos like sader and NGNG. Felt like it was life with the Kardasians. That's who PGI listens too and that's just sad.

So my conclusion is there is no hope and my wallet remains closed.

Like your ideas but it will never happen, it will never be considered. Maybe if you bribe the brownnosers that might change but brownnosers being brownnosers chances are you will just be sold out.

"NOT INVENTED HERE" syndrome.

Wasn't really "invented" there either if you want to get technical. But pointing out that there is a blueprint for something better than we have is in my opinion a good thing. No need to reinvent the wheel.

Take MWLL version of our Capture game mode.

Larger maps, (Peaks may be close in size to the ones I remember)
Nodes placed further apart
Game ends at a set time and the winner is whoever controls more nodes at that time.
Respawn (unlimited)
Spawn at any controlled node or home base
unbalanced teams (any numbers allowed up to max.)

Everything above is better than what we have now with the exception of unlimited Respawn. But if we did the battle deck concept instead, and maybe make a random mech in the deck be a respawn if all others were lost.... might be a workable solution. I did like how you unlocked better and better mechs in MWLL as the battle went on, so maybe incorporate that somehow also.
