Making the Marauder "different enough" to not get sued is both simple and difficult. It has a fairly iconic shape to the body and arms, particularly. But was way less "practical" in appearance than other mechs of that time. Tons of other mechs have mimicked the overall design - chicken legs, pod-style body, the gun-pods on the arms, etc. But you would really have to redesign the torso to not have that same "war of the worlds" look to it.
