Are There Any Other Gamemodes Besides Tdm?

Are there any other gamemodes besides TDM?

We have:
  • TDM
  • TDM with a sumo wrestler circle
  • TDM with lights fighting other lights at the other team's spawn
  • TDM with lights fighting other lights at capture points
  • TDM with lights either running away or mediums chasing them
  • TDM with with drop deck with premades badtouching pugs, then wondering why no one plays that gamemode right before their souls are obliterated by longtoms
All of which is over in either 5, 10, 15 or 20 minutes.

Now I get that gamemodes are hard to make and balance, and take months, if not a year or so to create, implement, balance, adjust, scrap, break, duc-tape, with-hold, tease, break again, then release.

I have hope, if the implementation of dekklz told me anything, it will only take time, three times as much funding than necessary, then four times the amount of initial development time required, in 2018 we can have Solaris. All we need to do is purchase more mech packs and continue to support and return to MWO like the dirty abused kitchen wives that we are.

Nah, because if you actually play the objectives instead of TDM then someone yells at you on VOIP. Well, that is unless all of them have already died and then they are hoping that you can somehow still secure the win for them when it is you trying to cap versus anywhere from one to eleven Mechs who are trying to kill you because your team failed at killing them in their TDM mode. Then, while they watch in Spectator mode, they are all full of useful suggestions on how you should play the objective.

To add insult to injury, the reward for actually completing the objective in Assault is tiny. So even if you win the game for your team, expect a pitiful payout if you didn't shoot other mechs.

It really feel like more of a way to end the game if the enemies last few mechs are hiding somewhere.

Until they allow respawn on modes they don't want to be TDM. All modes will continue to be TDM.

No, respawn is not required. All you have to do is make the objective the primary goal and give incentives. For example, if the new Assault mode listed the primary objective as capturing the enemy assets. then you would try to capture the enemy base while leaving as many enemy Mech standing as possible. Why? Because every Mech that you did not destroy would be considered captured after the objective was completed and you would gain salvage (or as the Clans call it isorla) which would translate into much higher payouts than damage or kills.

You could win by playing TDM but you could win a lot more by completing the objectives.

No. No there aren't.

I always get a chuckle with people demanding solaris. When we already have it minus the fluff and FFA battles.

That is in fact what it was designed for. Also to end the match if you end up with unkillable discos that get glitch into walls, etc but those sort of bugs are mostly gone these days.
