You can create learning curves in games that prevent this from happening.

For example, we know from their tweets that Bryan and Russ have played Mechwarrior: Living Legends.

If you have played this game, you know that the absolute worst thing you can do is take any asset, but especially an expensive assault mech, and rush into the enemy lines unsupported. You get blasted apart in 10-15 seconds, you do not end up getting any kills, and you cost your team a boatload of points, while giving the other team same said boatload.

Kiddoes in assault mechs just hurt their teams. But even the beauty with kiddoes is that if they stick with the game, they will learn what it takes to win. That means slowing down, thinking a tad, and playing as team.

All we can do is wait and see, gents. Take a deep breath, and wait and see. Everything is not lost.

This entire project has changed SO much from the inception, that I have had to force myself not to form any lasting opinion until the game is out and we can see what the final product is like. At the very least, I have faith that Jordan and Russ will follow through with a fine MW game. That is, after all, their area of expertise. F2P gaming is not, and that part is the big curveball for me. "Wait and see" is the best approach for me. In the words of the great Shel Silverstein, "...anything can happen child, anything can be."

Yea looking at some of the negative posts of these people that haven't even got their hands on it yet makes you really scratch your head.

Finally for once, someone has heard us, and you want to whine about this or that? Those people just need to chillax and wait until more details unfold. Don't ruin for everyone else, what could be a game that blow all our expectations us away.

By that same token, don't say that you've "been heard," because you have no idea what you're getting either.

It's hard to have any faith in developers any more, all I can hope for is that they truly respect the foundation of Mechwarrior/Battletech, and put out a game that mirrors it. I don't want arcade, I honestly don't even want this as a console game. I want to grab the joystick out of the closet for this, and hopefully it's done the way it should be.

I'll have faith in the badassery of this game until proven otherwise.

in the meantime... gonna install Mechwarrior 3 and roll through the campaign. XD

Hey any good addition to the Btech universe is alright by me. Just no lame Dark Age stuff please. If I see one Steamshovel Mech We're gonna have words.

Gaming of the now is MMO & Freemium hotness. On the understanding that if one bit of Bowie appears in the cash shop then that's a none negotiable uninstall of the game, I'm perfectly fine with a MW MMO... I generally choose games that are multiplayer/co-op anyway as there are two of us here who are avid gamers.

Saying that and just so we understand each other. See those links to Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and whatnot down there? Good. I see any of that cruft in the actual game and that's a mandatory uninstall. Forums? Fine by me.

Good post. I missed that article from PC Gamer and it was good to go back and read it.
