I am one of the guys that was not excited about this at the start. Its turning out amazing, everything so far. Way better than I expected.

Really during the kickstarter I was no help at all and I feel bad now. Posted Image Sure one forumite isn't much but still.

I have such a great vibe about this project. Great track record of producing games, and they seem to have people on board, even on top of Weisman, who basically eat, breathe and *hit battlemechs.

Might be that the most enduring legacy of MWO is that it "kickstarted" a new stream of MW/BT video games. Wouldn't be surprised if we get games using Alex's designs and the same models, many years from now.

I agree 100%. I'm still rather fresh to BT/MW but earlier/previous concepts/visual style of them mechs... were at least wonky and funny looking. Didn't strike fear more like bursts of laughter.
Now those are pure bada$$ mofos.

AMAZING! I like everything of it. This is a tactical, turnbased battletech game and i hope it helps the salty people, to enjoy our fast battletech shooter game (MWO) even more.

Know if there's anyway to join the kickstarter? (I'm aware it's "done", but curious if it's too late to donate/"own" the game before the release).

Remember, it's not Alpha...it's not even Pre-Alpha...it's Super Pre-Alpha. :)

In all honesty though, I'd assume they will move like MWO mechs overall. Things like the inverse kinetics will be added later which will help make it a bit more natural.

Still, they are going to have to add animations for melee, and maybe that gives us some hope that mechs will have other animation tweaks as well. Maybe a more "relaxed" pose when walking or standing such as the arms down at the mech's side or swaying a bit when it walks.

In anycase this is a VERY early build and details are often added or tweaked later (sound, lighting, animations, additional functionality, etc.. ).

Two Forumites =(

I share your exact reaction then and now hehe. I've been burned from bad kickstarters previously, so I chose to wait and see. I'll get the game as soon as it's availible on Steam =)

No you heretic. Only wholesome 3025 tech. After all why start with the clan invasion when there's so many more awesome wars on the IS side of things. Also... more models from mwo to copy for IS mechs lol.

No. It's set in the pre-4th Succession War era of the early - mid 3020s, so no clans (also, the setting seems to be the South Periphery which is the opposite side of the IS from where the clans would eventually invade in the 3050s.

I expect there'll be several expansions/sequels to it if it's a success, just like With their Shadowrun games, so I imagine eventually they'll make their way into the clan era for those who are fans of that time, but for now it's the 3020s and I couldn't possibly be happier about that! :)

They actually just announced a way!

Quote

Reinforcement Opportunity For Late Backers!
One of the most common questions we get (besides, “Which ‘Mechs will be in the game?”) is “Can I still back the project?” Up until today the answer has been, “No.”

Now that all the design, production, manufacturing, and shipping for physical rewards is behind us, we feel comfortable opening up a limited number of DIGITAL-ONLY Backer levels, so that folks who missed our Kickstarter can become Late Backers and reinforce the mission.

We’re still working hard on a license from Topps that would allow us to create new BT merch for everyone to enjoy. If that deal comes together we will let you know! For now, let your friends know that they can still get in on the action and support the project by choosing from one of the following Late Reinforcement Backer Levels:

RECRUIT REINFORCEMENT - $25 or more
  • A DIGITAL copy of the BATTLETECH game for Windows, Mac, or Linux through your choice of Steam, GOG or Humble. (DRM-free versions available, too!).
  • A GREAT HOUSE WALLPAPER PACK. Proudly proclaim your House allegiance on your PC, tablet, phone, and social media pages.
MECHJOCK REINFORCEMENT - $35 or more
All of the above, PLUS:
  • A digital download of the BATTLETECH ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK.
  • THE ART OF BATTLETECH in PDF format! See behind-the-scenes concept art and how we go from concept art to the final look and feel of the game.
MECHWARRIOR REINFORCEMENT - $50 or more
All of the above, PLUS:
  • Access to the SKIRMISH and MULTIPLAYER GAME BETAs. Get in early to learn the ropes of ’Mech combat and help us make the game better.
  • A BACKER-ONLY VARIANT of the Atlas Assault 'Mech with an exclusive model and paint job.
  • A brand-new four part ORIGINAL FULL-LENGTH BATTLETECH E-NOVEL by legendary author Michael A. Stackpole.
IMPORTANT NOTES
  • Our system is not set up to allow current Backers to easily upgrade to a higher level. If you are currently a Backer at the $25 or $35 reward tier and want to upgrade to the $35 or $50 reward tier, please contact us on our web site and we’ll help you make that change.
  • We did not re-open the INITIATE OF THE ORDER digital reward level because we felt that entry into the Order of Valhalla should remain exclusive to our original Kickstarter Backers.

Looks boring. I am thinking about late backing though since my brother backed the kickstarter.

Well, my knowledge behind Inner Spheres, Lore, Story before when Clan Invasion still low. Because I'm more interested in Clan's Lore.

Agreed, If this game is success enough, maybe there will be Clan Sequel, Expansion or DLCs Story in the future.
