RIP Wubhawk. Posted Image

RIP Omnis.
As Clan BattleMechs with good profiles and hardpoint locations roll out, the locked Core Omnis will pretty much all end up screwed in MinMax land. Which I knew would happen even before Clans were launched. Pretty stupid since Omnis are supposed to be the tip of the spear, militarily.

Yea, is it the II or IIC for sure?

If it's the II, then the hard points in the picture don't match up.

MAD II:

2x ERPPC
2 x MLas
1 x LB-10

Or the can have 4 mech pack every three months, and between the 3 months we can release singles of whatever mech the playerbase votes on, it seems like a flawless marketing plan tbh.

4 mech packs...please, never again.

I personally like 100 ton assault Clan mechs in the new mech pack style. I feel like I get the best value. I'm just hoping they make the first 3 variants + hero unique enough that you don't feel like you need to buy the reinforcement pack for max optimization. The Kodiak pack to me as been the best bang for your buck value they offered us in a long time.

P.S by value I mean Cash-> Cbill cost.

It's Russ's new Twitter icon. He uses the most recent Mech to be announced as his Twitter icon, by default.

Wow twitter, which is free instead of using the mwomercs website which PGI spends money. Great business plan there.

Both mechs will be doa, first because of low engine cap and 2nd cause of missile hardpoints in legs. No one wants something like this in MWO and yeah, I loved the Crusader in table top.

The Devastator packs a 300 series engine, so same engine cap as an Atlas, as the Atlas comes stock with a 300 series engine.

The Leg missiles on the crusader would be move to ST's, just like how on the Cicada the leg MG's were moved to ST.

We have mechs now that had missile hard points in the legs, they just got shifted into their respective ST's. And I would like the Crusader as well, like it on the tabletop as well. It is also one of the most common mechs in the inner sphere. Plus being "DOA" doesn't mean anything in MWO, plenty of mechs have been called that and got released anyways.

If I wasted money on things that I could get for free a few months later I would definitely buy this. Orion iic and Highlander iic are my two favorite mechs currently. I know, I'm weird.

When does it release for cbills!?

All hail the brilliance of PGI's balance. And by hail I mean take a piss on it. They ****** up omnis so badly it is unreal. Omni mechs are something that was so amazing that the Inner Sphere ended up having to make their own using Clan tech (such as Avatar).

But that makes no sense in this game given that Clan Omnis suck balls.

And it's all due to too open of a mech lab, Battle mechs were given too much freedom, with out any of the TT restrictions.

Omni's have all the TT restrictions...

I've been saying it for a long time...

Battle mechs should have:
  • Locked internal structure type
  • locked engine size
  • locked engine type
  • locked hard point locations
  • locked hard point types
  • sized hard points
  • locked equipment

Omni Mechs should have:
  • Locked structure type
  • locked armour type
  • locked engine type
  • locked engine size
  • locked hard point locations
  • locked equipment

I say that, as sometimes the major differance between battle mech variants is something as simple as engine size, or structure type. As it stands I can take a CN9-D and turn it into a CN9-A, or I can take a CN9-A and almost make it a CN9-D in every way but engine size, that should never been allowed to pass.

So basically, most battlemechs become massively inferior to Omnimechs. You also just caused things like forcing Commandos to go 97 kph and forcing Centurions to go 64 kph. Almost every Inner Sphere mech loses Endo Steel. Etc.

It also reduces flavor by making customization almost identical between both mech types.

I would probably buy this mechpack if the Cbill boost variant was the one w/ JumpJets. However, it looks like the stock variant does not have the JJs. Bummer.
