BTW it's sort of controversial statement in the FAQ:

"Q: The listed tonnage of 85 tons makes the Marauder IIC an Assault 'Mech. Why isn't it a Heavy, like the regular Marauder?
The design of the Marauder IIC is more directly informed by the design of the Marauder II. While based on the original Marauder chassis, the Marauder II was intended to provide the firepower of the regular Marauder in the formidable chassis of an Assault-class 'Mech. The Marauder IIC is therefore also an Assault 'Mech, boasting an additional 10 tons over the standard Marauder."

MAD-IIC was based on a standard Marauder chassis during Golden Century of clans somewhat around 2800s. It is not related to the much younger MAD-II in any way. Quite the opposite Marauder 2 was developed by Wolf Dragoons and Blackwell Industries in 3012.
There was a rumor, that Dragoons (former clan Wolf members) tried to replicate clan Marauder's firepower using IS tech base, but had to boost the size of the mech further, thus making it a 100 tonner.

Not sure what the heck I was thinking there. I've fixed that portion of the FAQ.

Then there's the free Decal for ... Clan Star Adder ?? ( Where are the Nova Cats, Steel Vipers and Diamond Sharks ? )

We'll be releasing Decals for each of the original Clans to coincide with the release of the Marauder IIC in December. Marauder IIC Early Adopters will receive the Clan Star Adder Decal for free.

In the games current state of affairs i'm just finding it boring running almost the same build every time with little to no difference when fighting opponents as well.

If i math'd correcly:

MAD-IIC-D
-2x Gauss
-2x LPL
-ECM
-XL340

gg.

Unfortunately you can't, one energy hard point is in the head where you have 1 crit space only. You have to switch one lpl with an erll. No double ppc or lpl in this variant.

Interesting choice since the 2C Variants field so many tech you people don´t have in your game...
You people spend too much time on shoveling mechs out of the door while the glaring issues with the actual game are ignored or worked at with snails pace.
I will not spend any more money on mechs while the gameplay keeps rotting away.

Arnt you bored of fighting the same style over and over and over again? I mean we need to be able to differ from what is currently available to us. Go ahead and sink money into the game if you want, but my money will stay in my pocket till I see whats coming up in the future.

It's actually an 85 ton assault - but I guess that's irrelevant if you're looking for something under 60 tons.

I wonder if it will be larger than the IS Marauder to better reflect the 15 ton increase in weight?

Actually do the Clans even have an 85 ton assault (aside from the Warhawk)?

I am guessing the hero is a Star Adder warrior by the Clan Star Adder decal included in the the early adopter rewards.

Originally the middle gun had been mounted in the middle, one could argue that the artwork reflects on that.
http://www.sarna.net...25_marauder.jpg

All in all, it simply doesn't matter since there are variants with a probable PPC in the left or right upper torso and also ballistic slots spread on both torsi.

In the end, the artwork usually resembles the base/prime-Variant, which got only small lasers in it's right torso, but a huge PPC in it's left. Therefore, a big gun in the right torso would be off. Posted Image

You're right, I missed the PPC being on the left torso since I skimmed it looking for ballistics on the left. Shame they couldn't do at least one ballistic hardpoint on the left. Of course, I'd like it even more if the weapon was still depicted as on top of the torso on the good old fashion turret, but legal reasons.

I like my ballistics and they are so much more fun for the Clans because, well, they're closer to Battletech ACs than the IS's "Autocannon" Mech Rifles.

Quote

"the Rifle was based on the main guns used by tanks on pre-spaceflight Terra."

Quote

An Autocannon is a type of rapid-firing, auto-loading direct-fire ballistic weapon, firing HEAP (High-Explosive Armor-Piercing) or kinetic rounds at targets in bursts. It is, basically, a giant "machine gun" that fires predominantly cased explosive shells though models firing saboted high velocity kinetic energy penetrators or caseless ordnance do exist.

(So many people can't understand why AC/20s have such limited range when the bigger the round, the farther it would go; when it is actually that at any given caliber, say 120mm, AC/20s shoot 10 times faster than AC/2s, 4 times faster than AC/5s, and 2 times faster than AC/10s with lots of recoil, shake and strain on any given Mech's muscles, hence the accurate range [without the exertion of undue effort from the pilot] of 270 meters [and a max 'shot' range of 2k meters]).

<.< >.>
Spoiler

I do believe I'll get me a Marauder IIC in all seriousness, though. I like my Marauders. Battletech and MWO and to be honest I never tried a Marauder IIC before in either.

Was hoping for something more exotic, like the original Warhammer IIC.

You'd figure the Clans would take the design to the next level.

Guess PGI wasn't listening when the majority of the player base said the don't want and don't care about another new mech release.

4 mechbays for $20 with the mechpack

or

4 mechbays for $6 with a $30 MC pack.

It is a darn fine value for some clam mechs.

Except that offer expired a while ago so its fairly irrelevant. ;)

1 mech + reinforcements + hero.

PGI is making good money with their switch in pack size.

Could I get a decent deal again like with Resistance or Clan Wave Packs? 4 mechs in 3 variants, colors/camo, cbill variant and cockpit items. 20$ ea.

Now they try to milk money by putting decent mechs in reinforcements + collectors + heroes. The bulk is Heavies/Assaults and we didn't see a single Light since when?

Stop supporting this dear playerbase. My guesstimate is they almost earn twice as much for each mech this way with the same overall workload.

So the II-D has a 255 STD with a top speed of 48kph.

Is this the first clan mech to get shipped with a total joke engine, IS-stylie?
