"Q: The listed tonnage of 85 tons makes the Marauder IIC an Assault 'Mech. Why isn't it a Heavy, like the regular Marauder?
The design of the Marauder IIC is more directly informed by the design of the Marauder II. While based on the original Marauder chassis, the Marauder II was intended to provide the firepower of the regular Marauder in the formidable chassis of an Assault-class 'Mech. The Marauder IIC is therefore also an Assault 'Mech, boasting an additional 10 tons over the standard Marauder."
MAD-IIC was based on a standard Marauder chassis during Golden Century of clans somewhat around 2800s. It is not related to the much younger MAD-II in any way. Quite the opposite Marauder 2 was developed by Wolf Dragoons and Blackwell Industries in 3012.
There was a rumor, that Dragoons (former clan Wolf members) tried to replicate clan Marauder's firepower using IS tech base, but had to boost the size of the mech further, thus making it a 100 tonner.
Not sure what the heck I was thinking there. I've fixed that portion of the FAQ.

We'll be releasing Decals for each of the original Clans to coincide with the release of the Marauder IIC in December. Marauder IIC Early Adopters will receive the Clan Star Adder Decal for free.
