I was hoping for something special in December :). My top pick would have been the Annihilator but this works too!

Guess PGI wasn't listening when the majority of the player base said the don't want and don't care about another new mech release.

Really? How is that when the majority of players DON'T use the forums ?

So the II-D has a 255 STD with a top speed of 48kph.

Is this the first clan mech to get shipped with a total joke engine, IS-stylie?

No, several others have so shipped.. Dire Wolves default to the same top speed. All the Highlander IICs use 270 engines and only one of the four models uses an XL engine. Worse, the Highlanders all share a 325 engine rating limit, whereas these Marauder IICs will have higher limits on a lighter chassis so they'll be much faster. .

Just a question to be sure. The extra mech in the pre-order bonus does come with its own mechbay, right? It isn't mentioned, so I thought I'd ask.

It does. We've updated the page to reflect that

Saw the new mech, cheered, and got ready to buy. I don't really need another 100 tonner but, it's too cool. Wait clan mech? Saw the "c" after the II, cried......

I can't argue with you on that one. I mean for the MAD-IIC-8, 2 MPL in one arm and a single PPC in the other. Crazy. I'll rectify that. . .ER Lg & Md Laser in the left arm and Lg Pulse in the torso. :) Or maybe leave the ER PPC in the torso, and replace the arm PPC with the Lg Pulse.

Seriously considering the package, plus a mech variant as an early adopter bonus is pretty nice.

Clan XL should help mitigate the biggest issue with the IS Marauder which is the highly targetable ballistic mount getting shot off.

Man that Scorch is gonna be a straight up monster on the field.

The ones with all the torso ballistic and energy are baby Blood Asps.

Our new meta overlord has appeared.

Neither. Its a Clan IIC, which is an inner sphere model refit to clan standards, though often the IICs changed in weight and weight class, as it did with the Marauder going from a 75 ton heavy to the IIC being an 85 ton assault. Totem mechs can be straight battlemechs or Omni Mechs, and are created (and often used) exclusively for one single clan.

Often IICs where weights are changed it is because of how mechs were originally classed when the original models were first built (Griffins were originally heavy mechs for example), but changing roles and weigh ranges meant they might not be what was originally designed anymore by the 31st century. The Griffin IIC went on a diet, dropping to 40 tons, yet it carries more firepower, has more speed and jumping ability, and nearly the same armor as its inner sphere cousin. An ERLL and an ERSL and 4 LRM5 launchers, a 240 engine, 10 double heat sinks, 7 tons of FF armor on an endo steel frame with six jump jets.

I don't know, it's a little soon for ANOTHER Marauder, even if it is a IIC. There's so many other 'Mechs people are clamoring for...IMHO, they should've given it another year before releasing this one. Still, great looking machine. Another one knocked out of the park guys.

How do I cancel my Linebacker pre-order and switch to this?

Or can billing switch my pre-order from the ultimate Linebacker to the ultimate MAD-IIC? (since both are the same price)

email support. Note, the release of new mechs for pre-order every 3 weeks is WHY its a good idea to only pre-order the $20 pack in the early adopter window. Once you've qualifed as an early adopter, you get all those bonuses. You can always add the hero, collector and reinforcement versions later (like the day before the release, and after you've seen any quirks) if you want them. I didn't add the viper reinforcements until two days before their release.

Fix all the problems with the game before adding more mechs would be a smart way to go . Oh sorry this is PGI , so milk this pig till it bleeds .
