PM me. As for the scorpion, don't recall it specifically, but my swampgator design is based on it. Shouldn't be too hard. Goliath is a tricky beast, but might make a fun challenge

I remember that you did do the Scorpion long time ago (you had uploaded it on the forums, but not on your deviantart).

Obviously, it's not "a point and click adventure game".

Things make sense in a way, PGI is squeezing the last pennies from this game, so we are getting:

- More and more mechs because direct income.
- Money grabbing amenities like caches and decals (made as dumb as possible).
- Enhancements to the game engine (inverse kinematics, small bug fixes) because the engine could be reused for other games. I don't believe anymore it is related to renewed development effort on MWO.
- Map tweaks (destroyable objects, weather etc) because this can be reused in other games, MWO is being used as test bed.

We are not getting anything MW-specific:
- Maps, who remember when we got a new map last time? I don't ever remember which one is the latest released map.
- New equipment (advance in timeline).
- Balance/enhancements on weapons and equipments. It has been marked as "good enough".

Players are not spending anymore because the (real) development output is close to nil, PGI is not investing anymore because income is falling, it is a vicious circle.

Probably they are working on something else behind closed doors. It is game over, I don't know if I feel worried or relieved frankly.

I agree with you koniving, bad times for older battlemechs.

I thought yesterday the same for the first time while comparing my highlanders (have highlander weeks now Posted Image ) with my new cyclopses.

hgn-723 7 weapon hardpoints vs. cp-10-z 9 weapon hardpoints.

hgn-heavy metal 7 weapon hardpoints vs. sleipnir 9 weapon hardpoints (mostly balistics in the chest Posted Image ).

This is funy, because after reading the comments for both mechs in the HBS battlemech compiliation thread, i left it with the impression, that in tabletop the highlanders would easily crush the cyclopses anytime (armor of an medium mech e.g.Posted Image ). But who cares about lore theese days Posted Image .

In my opinion a little bit of powercreep...

101% agree with OP.

PGI was on to something with hardpoint inflation in the past.
Now, it just doesn't make sense.

Now they just do it to sell mechs.

And the funny thing is that exactly like quirks, they tend to F* one or two variants of a chassis by giving it nothing while superbuffing the other variants.

The F*ed variants are usually the special cbill variants (the ones people got with real money)... This is PGI's way of saying thank you!

A few different paths chosen, a few different voices listened to during CB...and MWO might have embarked on a much different, and far less contentious path than the one we have witnessed.

But I think the truth is, no matter the debates.. Russ always had his eyes on a simple FPS catering to Esports. Nothing more.

#MAY2017

This is the long and the short of it really, the E word was mentioned even in closed beta, a Zombie bear hunting fps but with Battlemech shells was really all we were likely to get in the long run (new people if they care to, will find these type of games were all P.G.I made under different company names )

We just chose to be optimistic, because we wanted to believe, despite all the evidence, which is why there is so much bitterness around the place, because it gets pushed in our face on a monthly basis each patch day.

P.G.I is for most people judging by staff turn over, a stepping stone on the way to a good job, they have an exceptional Concept artist, and the texture artist is there on the same level.

However, when I see Russ on record for having hired two new map guys, I read we have two talented, interns who I'm going to abuse the hell out of, until they get fed up and leave.

Only May 2017 if it's on time Bish, but yes, its the place where real Battle tech games are made, and I shall hope by 2020 there is a company strong version out there, but I still ain't playing it for the PvP ;)

Just don't make it look like an At-At with a turret, I always felt that was FASA revenge for Lucas suing over the word Droid, God know why, as I think the name change, made this franchise
