Your Tier Should Be Public Info

"Curiosity" or not, publicising tiers has shown more than a few people on the forums criticising other players' opinions of the game with "You're not tier one? You don't know what you're talking about and your opinion is invalid."
Screw what their background is, to boot.

There's no way PGI are going to let that happen.

8+ hours,, we know our tax dollar is going to their social security allowing them to play MWO..stay away from these you may feel anger when playing with...
4+ hours,, know to be wary of this person they seldom get layed if at all and may very well be fraustrated and irrational..
Couple hours a day.. may wana play with these peeps, seems they have a job and a real life,, surely worth talking to and playing with...
What you think>???

LOL
By your logic, we should really want to play with people who don't play MWO at all. Because they are clearly people who have more important things to do with their lives

I know tiers just tell us experience rather than skill, that's why I made this thread.
I primarily want the tiers to show so that the workings of the MM becomes easier to understand.
And if PGI, hopefully soon, changes how the PSR rewards and punishes you in a way so that tiers become closer to skill levels, then having these shown would be even more important.

Don't answer as it was a rhetorical question. I can already guess your intent just based on your post.
Btw, this was a rhetorical question as well.

- The better solution is to show the number of Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, Tier 4 and Tier 5 players on each team after the match, without saying which players belong to each Tier. This pleases both camps.
- People who say Tiers don't mean anything clearly don't have a lot of experience with extended periods of playing Tier 1 and Tier 4/5. I know it feels like Tiers don't mean anything, but they actually mean a whole lot.

Theres a definite difference between T1/2 to T3 and below.
I wouldn't say there is much difference between T3 and 5 tho, bad is just bad.

I started the most recent light mech challenge as tier 4. I ended it in tier 3 and 10th spot on the adder leader board. Tier ratings are a joke. People who use them as validation are even more so. Just imagine that tiers were public and you couldn't hide from the fact that lower level tier players are rolling you. Could your fragile ego handle that?
a posible explenation for your succes in the light mech challange might be, you where under tiered (thats why you are going up in tiers) and your succes is partly due to being pitted against weaker oponents...

There's no reason to see how anybody else did?
Edit: Oh yeah, I just remembered; this is a multiplayer competitive game where we are supposed to compare ourselves with the other players...

LOL, yes, my fragile ego could handle you beating me
However if tiers were really skill based it would of course feel bad to get beaten by someone that is not supposed to be as good.

After, before, what's the difference? It still doesn't matter, lol. The only thing it will serve is to stroke your ego if you see that you're a higher tier than most of your team. I'm not interested in dealing with the attitudes that may arise from that.

Personally, I rate the MM's job by how bad the roll was. If the enemy team doesn't get at least six Mechs, I consider it to be a bad MM. If they get two kills or less, then it's a horrible MM.
Just keep in mind that, for some pilots, the sum-of-tiers would quickly become the sum-of-tears as the e-peeners go out of control and abuse it.

When the match is over I'd like to see everybody's tier, team mates as well as enemies.
This would work just as in CS:GO where you after a match get too see the rank of all other players, this so that you can judge your own and the teams performance as well as review how the MM set you up.
...
You answer your own question as to why this will never be implemented.
