Yes, and steal their juicy rocks. And hunt wild boars and then harvest them by pounding them with a spiked mace.

I don't feel the context is important at all. And you just provided it anyway. So we're good.

You have a tendency of taking some things very literally. Speaking of simplistic views.

Your post was derogatory. Not that I really mind. I think we understand each other very well, so if you call my view "simplistic" it doesn't really bother me. Being on the internet requires thick skin. But just for the record.

That is rather funny, actually. I haven't quite got to that point yet, though my list does keep growing longer.

sorry that i am quoting the whole post here. I mean when you even call someone a "white knight" that itself is derogatory. Its then simplistic because your are labeling somebody something that doesn't capture their actually view on the game of a whole.

For me, at least when somebody calls me that, they dont know that i have given my criticisms many times before and even when i make a post that seems to at least give PGI some slack, rarely is my post or views are taken with context.

"your post was derogatory", If i say somebody doesn't understand it. All that means is that the concept they introduced or their criticism thereof, demonstrates that the concepts they need to know in order to understand the concept they do not have in their current capacity.

If somebody is making a statement that is inaccurate, I say something about it. If they are not giving good context, I say something about it. How that individual responds is not my problem.

Last, something is either literal or not. If they are not literal then they are being metaphorical, and i have seen very little in that sense

I don't know if you like it, but it is similar to ARK but came before it. It's called Rust. alot of servers and quite a bit of people to talk to and meet. although it's mostly a PvP game, there's also PVE for some. pretty good game too at $20 for what it is. and the Devs listen to the community and partake in it. And they're usually good about joking too.

ARK is still a thing.

Alistair-
As a long time lurker and extremely infrequent poster - I do commend you on your repeated attempts to engage PGI, and have read and enjoyed many posts from you over the years Posted Image.

PGI seems only to be engaged with the players that are willing to pay for the newest shiny toy in which has not been nerfed yet (see every mech that they've added in since clans, and then nerfed and brought back down 3-4 patches later). They aren't appearing to engage the long time engaged player with new game modes, more balanced combat play, more complex scenarios, more maps/environments/weather conditions. As a long time player of standard quick play - I've not seen a drive to improve the play, performance, or combat action of this mode.

I'd like to see a range of changes that move MWO towards true 31st century combat and not 21st century FPS:
- Provide real exits (eject, escape, multiple objectives, and fleeing)
- True 31st century radar / satellite / map systems and not crippled by forced game play to provide faux 'balance'
- Faction play that assumes a commander/general isn't batsh*t insane sending equal tonnage versus fortified equal tonnage - and scenarios that aren't just defend/attack cookie cutter.
- Game modes that take in concepts of real objectives, real consequences, generally comparable odds and fortifications.

Problem is that these take real effort, commitment, and thought - I no longer believe that PGI has the management commitment to provide a game system that can, or could withstand the the test of time and long haul.

I've seen a decent amount of players move to other games with more complexity because of the stale game play. While their tournaments and advances towards that have been positives - real changes in standard play, maps, and options of play modes has been lacking for more than some time.

I can sum up the state of the MWO Community in three quotes.

MWO Community: "We're sick of all these Mech Packs! We want content!"
PGI: "Any questions for the next Townhall Meeting?"
MWO Community: "Yeah, When and What is the next Mech Pack?"

Damn, that's some ****** sick game. I love it! Posted Image

Just read this comment:

I love this game, I built a house around a guys house and made him my prisoner, I fed him cans of tuna and cooked chicken when it was available, and some times I would drop in spare logs of wood(when they were available). The best part. he talks to me, keeps telling me his clans going to raid my structure and save him.. I simply respond with .” It puts the lotion on its skin, or it gets the hose again” and by hose I mean I dump charcoal on him.

Great game hope the servers come up soon, I think my pet may need to eat.

I have lost all faith in PGI. I feel like a haze has been lifted even though I was always a bit cynical and apprehensive toward them.

Have you ever been friends or just had to be around someone who is a compulsive liar? Fool me once, fool me twice, etc. The first time, and maybe a few more times you think perhaps subconciously, "Surely, this person is at least as good as my standard for most people. Nobody would be able to make it through life as a lying scumbag."

But hey, guess what? For every show of good will, you get gouged. Then everytime they do something you expect of a normal person, you feel a bit of Stockholm syndrome that maybe they aren't that bad. Then you kick yourself the next time they screw you over. No they are lying scumbags through and through. Same principle.

What good and interesting game modes and level design look like Posted Image

If you let it run the next video is another game mode, another 5 minute instruction intro. Look at the level of complexity, the different points to fight over. Onslaught mode has tanks, jeeps, aircraft, and turrets that i can remember. check it on youtube if you have the interest, i recommend it.. There is even an "in space" fighter mode. All this they had 12 years ago, surley there is some inspiration for PGI here? I know the gameplay will horrify some people Posted Image but imagine if we had game modes like this.

A while ago somebody posted about wishing they were playing someting else, honestly when i play mwo, i often wish i was playing ut2k4.

Edit: onslaught explained

Is it irony that the main post didn't load the video(tbf quotes did) and left a dead chrome link image instead?

If PGI had more experience or had thought of it before all of this had happened, they wouldn't have said that they were going to be bringing work on a bar that they couldn't do. *shrugs*

for me that was never the issue. What finally "bittervetted" me was the continued refusal to acknowledge they bit off more than they could chew... and the kneejerk inclination to insult and belittle the playerbase instead...

well, my active ignore list is about 10x the length of my active friend list these days......... (My inactive friend list dwarfs both... because ya know... all almost all the old guard have left)

But... this was never the first time... it was a consistent process from the start... pre AND post IGP.

Some people hold out hope longer than others. There are people who still think CW is going to become a war simulator.

Isn't that the same reaction you have every time Mk II isn't a Mek Pak?

Cause if I remember you said it would come in last year, you said it might be here in July etc... Still waiting for something that isn't a thing.

Technically we are all waiting for something to come out of this game that none of us have...

For me it always been PVE and an Engine Upgrade are the most important. I did ask for a short term item (Mad Cat MK II) for a sign of good faith back in Feb to keep me a happy supporter because number one I know they can deliver on a mech pack and number two I have waited 4 years.

and because they should of course bow down and give every player their very own good faith gesture mech pack at 25k to develop......
