Can anyone come up with a solid explanation why the simple database fixes are ignored? I'm not the first person to point out that a lot of the simple balance fixes are a set of quick changes that could at least be implemented in an effort to show that you care, but the longer this rash has been out in the open the more virulent it has become.

I was about to make a similar revelation when I realized I already made this one.

Coming up on 5 years here and Mechs still dont get slowed down by water and LBX weapons cant fire single slugs, but lets add new tech to the game!

It'll be like the clan tech implementation, reskins of already existing weapons/mechanics. Which is why I am very unenthused.

Hmm...I'm torn.
Normally I am against necro-ing on the basis of "things change, issues evolve" better to start a new thread, etc. But damn this 9 month old thread is just as relevant as it was last August. I think if we put in the google effort we could probably find a thread from 2012 (at least) with the same issues and same complaints and same sort of "response" from PGI.

They simply should declare any deeper water as "mud" that slows down your Mech to "leggged" speed (half your speed or 40 kmh whatever is slower).

The slowdown effect is Independent of water - simply the map needs to recognize if the Mech moves in "mud" which also can be swamp or desert sinkholes...

The days of the military fixing people died a long, long time ago, if they ever existed. To be honest, some of the biggest mess-ups I know in life are ex-military, and many of them bear a chip on their shoulder the size of a Hunchback's autocannon. That being said, inability to tackle fixable issues - "low hanging fruit" as the saying goes - is perhaps the biggest frustration some of us have with them. Well, that and the silly grand projects like the skill maze which were implemented so badly that the "small business" excuse doesn't cut it anymore.

Normally I'd be like 'sweet necro' but I honestly think you hit on the biggest issue. Microsoft gave the Mechwarrior/Battletech license to a tiny studio. A studio so small that they make decisions based on one person's twitter feed, kind of like our president.


I really wish a bigger studio would have gotten the rights.

So far this year PGI has done a fair job with development. Nobody really cares about switchable ammo, and the "low hanging fruit" that's used as an excuse to be salty.

Stop necroing threads, and give them some credit where its due.

you only work 2 days a week? then you only charge for 2 days a week, all the actual grind needs to be cut by half,

and as for civil war, you know damn well they only did it to hold out a lil longer till mw5, otherwise they have no buisness model,

and what's the point of buying anything if the SINGLE PLAYER is coming out soon where most of us will migrate to, demand multiplayer and then pgi will just do this all over again.


i just want a mech game, a good one. Please just let hairbrained take over and actually make a good game.

LIVING LEGENDS WAS SO MUCH BETTER, AND IT SHOWED THAT YOU CAN MAKE LARGE SCALE CODE CHANGES, A TEAM NOT GETTING PAID DID IT FOR FREE. and made a better game with more DEPTH then pgi ever will.
