Lol this "problem" has been around since 2012!

Unfortunately yeah, you're right, and it looks like people have not learned in all that time!

It rather sounds that people are deliberately damaging your mech. I would report them for griefing.

Nah, while I admit that there are some yobbos who do it on purpose, I know that most players do it by accident or without thinking, so I don't bother reporting them for it if theyapologise for damaging my 'Mech by doing that, but if they continue to do it (say 3 or 4 games I find myself in the same team as someone who does it every time) then I do report them or else just turn around and shoot them in return, team damage be darned haha.

Just report them and move on.

I don't care if it was an accident or not.

I havnt seen any real problems with this for quite a while. I went through a bad bout of lots of friendly fire incidents over a couple of months or so a while back but I am quite certain it was an effort to try get me banned.

Friendly fire surprisingly is not much of a problem in matches since closed beta.

I remember when knockdown and collision was in. One match a Commando was knocked down and trampled to death by his own team at the spawn.

Players tend to be clueless idiots, and its best just to avoid your own team as much as possible.

I think the problem stems from people alt-tabbing out and then clicking back into the game; thus causing an unintentional firing of the weapon group assigned to that mouse button, as well as other related accidents such as an itchy trigger finger, an unintentional flinch of the mouse hand, or a cat jumping on the keyboard(just to name a few that have happened to me personally).

I've had the cat problem happen a few times.

as to the guys jumping in and stealing kills and your weapons smashing their backsie, well I used to trn away as quickly as I could to avoid friendly fire. I dont anymore. if you wish to jump in front of a firing mech and take rear damage, so be it, i will gladly assist, after all, i get charged (cbills) for it..

I'm starting to do this as well. There's moments when the battle is a bit chaotic and clustered (the rare yet extremely fun urban brawls in river city for example) so it's understandable, but not always the case. It usually seems like there's one guy who is constantly dancing about and making it impossible to reposition and focus fire. Then there's the annoying light pilots who like to play peekaboo in the front lines with their 30 point alpha, blocking the fire of someone who can dish out 3x the pain. Those people I wanna just blow up and save myself the frustration, team killing be damned.

As what others have said, I constantly change my loadouts too so test firing in the beginning becomes normal. I'm sorry to those of you who feel testing grounds is the go to for this, but I don't feel like loading it up just to make sure my left side, and right side, weapons are in the same firing group. Then again, I've never actually hit anyone in the back testing my weapons. The exception being when someone faster than me decides to plow into my back instead of going around; causing their mech to glitch out infront of me. Not something I'm about to apologize for considering that I always make sure no friendly mechs are in my LOS when test firing.

I never got the point of doing test firing in an actual game.

Firstly, the weapons don't fail to fire, excepting Ultras. So you're not testing for "mechanical" failure.

Secondly, if you hadn't already tested the heat curve of your mech in testing ground, then the problem is with you.

Thirdly, if you really need to check something in game, then at the very least practice standard range safety by making sure people aren't in your line of fire.

I often test fire to remind myself of the heat of certain weapon groups, or sometimes I'm actually adjusting my weapon groups (ie, trying to figure out which mounts are which on my weapon list). There's no point in going to testing grounds for this, it's a waste of time (a lot of time) when you could do it the moment you spawn in a match and do it in two seconds flat. Especially for those of us who change builds often or play a wider variety of mechs which are all quirked differently.

Dat may be true in certain circumstances. Bet you can't figure out every circumstance in every mission doe! Nobody can! To not think of it is a mistake doe! I am a real ghost dragon by da whey. So, only want to help.

For example, what if you get put on da side wit' a bunch of mechwarriors dat cant hit? A waste o' time to me if winning is desired. Don't u tink? Unless of course, your targeting skills and your equipment are so high to compensate. From dis dragon to you (dragon or not), humbleness in dose senarioes is what i suggest!Posted Image

PGI for the love of them should give us 5-10 seconds vulnerability from the start of the game.

Dat is a good idea.

My point mostly is to give da team away so it ends sooner. If you can't tell if da udr mechwarriors don't know what dey doin, u can watch dem go nowhere A LOT a soon indicator dey don't i tink'. Y i wanna get to a bettr crowd o already. NO i don't like da whey da match people up all da time so dat how i do it. Posted Image

Dood. Milions of ppl die in car crashs.

Ppl are by default incredibly bad pilots.

In mwo its not even a real threat of getting injured or dying.

Ppl stumble around and shoot without any aim whatsoever.

Mwo players have the very worst aim - and are by far the worst players in general - i have ever seen before in any kind of game.

So weird as mwo is like a shooter in ultra slow motion.

So easy so much time to make good shots.

Mwo players are just so bad hahaha. Amazes me each game.

From my viewpoint - as an elite Super Jedi Master of epic skills and godlike reflexes - mwo players are worse than pve enemies of games from 1853.
