Took out my gold dual goose Dire this weekend. Figured it would be a good time to hang out with other fatties.

And no one noticed.

Not a single shot in the back or comment whatsoever. My guess is because all the Steamers and newbies had no clue what they were looking at.

Times they are a changing.

I reckon the player base has been gradually replaced to quite a large extent. Most probably don't know what's special about them, let alone know the price tag.

Us bads are too busy trying to shoot at the enemy and not die in 10 seconds from the enemy death ball return fire to notice things like mech color. All the goods run their settings at such low levels that colors are muted to the point where gold may as well be yellow or even gray.

You're probably right regarding the cycling Player Base. Most of us that were around during the Golden Days have probably semi-retired. I've only just started playing again after a few months away.

Still remember one match in Community Warfare, were a team mate had ALL GOLD MECHS. After he dropped into the third one, our entire team had realised that he was solid gold, and we all formed up to defend him to the death. It was glorious.

I notice when I see one. If the guy is on my team, I'll usually comment on how his mech is a rare sight. If it's on the enemy team it gets shot at like everything else.

Does it still have that really bad plastic collar on it still from the "rescale"?
