Never cared even at that time. They should try the same thing in some degree. It got IGP some cash. PGI needs some cash. Special camo mechs over gold sheen any day.

Had some people thank a gold dire that was in our team for supporting the game a couple of weeks back. I play on low so I can't really tell if it's gold unless I stare really hard.

Super easy yet completely ignored

Actual premium colors
Could be one shot for 5 or 10 bucks
Need up to 3 channels of them for a mech
Could be gold on mechs not having a gold version (would dig a golden king crab)
Otherwise silver, gunmetal, rusty, glowing like TRON

Easy money without the mess of golden mechs
They obviously have the shaders already working (gold color, glowing atlas eyes we used to have)

it depend son the map, the reflection soemtimes makes it greenish, it cna n soem situations act like an adoptable camo. but in the end its just amazign staring at the shinyness in the mechlab.

I wouldn't care if PGI makes some real gold color for like 50€ per shot. Would total want to color some emchs that way, but the golmechs had the issue that they are all bound to be "prime" variants. Same thing with the loyality mechs or some bundle emchs, cool camos on bad variants, so no buy for cool crap or good boredome. They should make these colors unlocks and add these skins unlocks to other mechs of that chassis too.

PGI has managed to ignore critical problems long enough to let apathy solve them.

An interesting business model, I'm curious to see how it works out for them. I have nothing but pity for the next game they try to release, I suspect the opportunity to torpedo anything else PGI does is the only thing that might shake the lethargy out of the hopeless masses.

You know, it never bothered me.. and if i had the cash i probably would of gotten one.. Sure it was double the price of the total pack, But still was kinda cool if you had the extra cash.. Perhaps if i didn't go out for football on sundays i could of gotten it.. But we all make our choices..


I always say thanks for supporting the game when i see one.. though it has been a long while since i have..


Still want to see them as rewards for certain tournaments though.. and add silver and bronze.. For instance this tourney/party now in dec.. would be a nice bonus reward.

I noticed someone in a gold Dire Wolf this weekend; might have been the OP. Never really had a problem with them even when they were first announced - it's your money so you can do what you want with it. Heck, I just bought some MC today not because I need it or want it, but because I have a soft spot for Blackjacks and wanted the BJ-2 loyalty mech. Well, at least now I can open my next 50 supply crates thanks to the BJ-2.

As for the disappearance of the gold mechs, are we sure they weren't just all sold out? I remember they were limited in quantity and some of them sold out pretty quickly, so it's not out of the realm of possibility that they're all gone.

I have never seen a gold mech. Maybe a T4 thing so is it a real pay hundreds get a fancy skin or is this joke of some kind?

The $500 cost was for a gold mech and I think it was the Masakari Collection (3 variants each of 8 different mechs).

I'm a cheapskate so I only got the Thor Collection.
