This is absolutely ridiculous. Why would you put out a build on a the PTS for something as huge as Energy Draw, and then put out an event, which is going to be very time intensive? There is going to be far less participation on the PTS because of this event. Postpone the event and let people concentrate on the PTS, like they should be doing.

I love the idea of this event, and its a great way to earn some good rewards, but I think the timing of this event was not chosen very well. This is really going to take away from the player pool needed for the PTS. Especially since this event is only going to last a few days, its going to prioritize people to play on the main servers instead of the PTS.

Granted its not exactly hard for an experienced player to easily knock this out in a few dedicated hours, newer players are going to have to grind away and ignore the PTS and the energy draw system. I think you should either extend the days for the event so players arent forced to binge on the game and get too burned out to play the PTS, or move the event to next weekend so that players can put time on the PTS. Or you can mirror the rewards from the PTS as well as the main servers so that enterprising players can double dip on the rewards. Just my suggestion, take it as you will. But running this event at the same time you want players to do PTS testing was not the wisest decision.

I get the feeling they are base lining mechs for a quirk pass for when the power draw system comes out.

Possibly the most important Play Test Session this game is likely to have, and you do this at the same time.

I just don't have the words to express how utterly stupid this is.

You just lost 90% of the testers.

Or they are trying to keep the terribads from trying it out and giving uninformed opinions, only the dedicated will attend the test.

But I do agree with what you are saying Cathy, just playing devil's advocate.

This is horrendous decision-making.

This event needs to be postponed until 2 weeks from now or outright cancelled.

How are you going to have one of the most important PTS sessions in the game's history, and then hold what is arguably one of the best-rewarding events in the game's history on the SAME ******* WEEKEND?!

I think we just determined that PGI is not at all interested in the test server results. I should be shocked by this, but frankly this is just so PGI.

Nice! I like the events that appeal to a broad set of mechs, so you don't just see 50% or more on assault queue, etc.

Whenever there's a multipart challenge I do hope to see a fun grand prize award, like a cockpit item or something that fits the theme if there is one. Not a big deal though, I can still get various rewards for playing any mech I want and that's just gravy after playing one specific mech a lot for more targeted leaderboard action.

PTS should always be for more than a couple of days. Takes time to generate any useful data and get a decent number of players involved. However, if you make it too long, people will put it off and not queue up. Gotta find the balance.

4 days isnt enough for casual players to even get close. Its about 3-4 hours per challenge.

Last weekend took me about 4 hours of play time (and the full 6 days due to illness and a thing called "family").

My first reaction was ... another QP event and nothing for Faction Play. My second reaction was why is this going on during the testing? Then I remembered .... PGI.

Folks simply don't play PTS in numbers, event or not.

We talk a good game, sure. We don't do it though.

The folks who don't play live server because there's no event? They're not playing PTS. They're just gone. It's better for PGI to give them a reason to play than to watch them walk for the weekend.

The folks who want to play PTS usually do it anyway, event or not.

Casuals and grinders won't really show up much, or briefly, and don't provide useful feedback.

Sorry folks, even though it seems like it defies common sense, it's our behavior as players that's actually defying it. Even if it's in our best interest to make the game better, we don't and won't help beyond the dedicated few. PGI is actually paying attention to what we do, not what we say.

The PTS will last longer than this event. Calm down, get your event rewards, and then test on the PTS.
