This a pure rage post directed at the person who is responsible for the matchmaker if there is such a thing is this game. I'm tier 1, I've been playing for 3 years, maybe even more. I DON'T WANT TO PLAY WITH TIER 3. I DON'T WANNA BE FRUSTRATED AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN BY PEOPLE WHO HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO PLAY THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!

EITHER DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS THING OR HAVE NEGATIVE REVIEWS OVER YOUR GAME EVERYWHERE I CAN THINK OF. IF I DO LEAVE I'LL PULL 5 MORE PEOPLE WHO ARE AS FED UP AS ME WITH THIS ****. HOW CAN SOMEONE LOSE 10 MATCHES IN A ROW CAUSE OF FRIENDLY NOOB PLAYERS AND STILL FIND SATISFACTION IN PLAYING?!?!? GET A BRAIN AND SIT DOWN AND FIX THE GODDAMNED MATCHMAKER OR GIVE THE LICENSE TO SOMEONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO MAKE A FUN GAME INSTEAD OF FRUSTRATION GENERATOR MWO BECAME. PEACE.

I'm guessing your not dropping with the players you want to drop with? Is this regular queue or group queue. Regular queue isn't supposed to allow synch dropping you must know.

So do you have a unit ready at your disposal every time you wanna play? Are your friends online 24/7? Are they always in the mood to play? No? Then there is no option but to pug. And PUG QUEUE should have a WORKING matchmaker!

But other than that yes, it can be painful, really painful to play solo que.

But what can you do? You can't make players competent by telling PGI to fix MM.

PSR should be removed. Everyone should play everyone. Then if you have 3 new people on your team, better get to shooting harder.

It does have a working match maker.

It tries to balance games so that you average out on a 1-1 win loss ratio, it looks at data and then tries to put a game together on that basis, if people have been carried for 8 wins in a row and then it decides they need to lose based on its code, and they play like muppets, rather than give a close fight, hardly MM's fault.

No. How do you explain people having 20 losses in a row? If it had any code you mentioned that wouldn't happen. It just mixes tier 3 newbs with 2-3 tier one players that can't carry 9 noobs. The long standing problem is that people reach tier 3 too fast. They're just not ready to play with higher tiers and derp around losing game after game after game.

EDIT: To clarify the problem: on one side you get 9 tier 3 players and 3 tier 1 players. Other side has 6-7 tier 2 and maybe one tier 1 and the rest tier 3. The team with 6-7 tier 2 players will stomp the other 99% of the time. Why? That tier 3 bunch is still fresh, they don't have a month under their belt and DOESN'T HAVE A CLUE WHAT TO DO. So PGI, please do something ffs.

And who would that be? You perhaps? or something your friend or another pug told you that may or may not have actually happened or been exaggerated.

My recent experience with MM is as OP describes. Few days ago I opened this topic : http://mwomercs.com/...__fromsearch__1

about how bad are the matches I get in my main (this one) account. Basically the problem is not the many defeats, but that most of them end as stomps. This indicates that MM fails to create even teams most of the time.
Many in that topic suggested that to get so many bad games somehow I'm the problem. But I don't understand how I am responsible for those teams that die within 2-3 minutes from match start ! or how I make players to run one by one into the enemy deathball witch is viewable in the minimap....
PGI should give some explanation.

Let me break something to you. The current match make is set in concrete. I would guess it is anyway. Know why? Its really really good.

If they got nothing better to do they may send someone to go over it with a magnifying glass some time for optimization, that's about it.

It's the ridiculous new-player-seeding bonus that's most responsible for this. The problem isn't that Tier 3 can be matched with Tier 1. The problem is that Tier 3 is full of first-week scrubs who should still be in Tier 4 or Tier 5. For some reason, though, PGI decided that a lucky first match should launch you from Tier 5 to Tier 4 and a handful of wins from there should put you in Tier 3.

I've got a feeling, though, that that may have been deliberate. With the game's relatively small population, you need a large portion of the population in Tier 3 to accelerate matchmaking times for people at the top and bottom of the scale.

Pick your poison: Suffer long wait times for matches or suffer strings of **** matches.

You got one thing right, this match maker will only improve with more players. If I understand right tier 3 will only play tier 3 with enough players.

Johnny, let me break something to you, the game is becoming a ghost town for a reason. Stop spitting on people that are trying to make PGI do something good for both sides.

mflol

~30k daily active peak, so... ~600k monthly active (unique). Hardly a ghost town. Just because you choose salty over ever other flavor in the world, don't project it onto the community as a whole.

It's easy for me, longer waiting times for higher quality matches anytime. Crap matches won't make people stick around. High quality, balanced matches will bring higher population eventually. God knows how many people they lost due to the highly unbalanced gameplay.

err....

so what you're saying is that you would wait half an hour for 1 good match over 7-8 average to bad matches?

Show me that data and I'll believe it. I check Steam numbers daily, around 500 on working days, that's an achievement, much wow. When MWO came to Steam, numbers reached 3000 and kept falling down. I have no reason to believe that the standalone client has the opposite trend.

That's only those who've installed MechWarrior: Online via steam. That does not include those that play the client they download from here.

Many people have been playing before it came to steam, so most likely people who did not want to go through the trouble to download it all over again on steam did not want to, or even had an account. Considering MWO has been around for the open community since 2012-2013.

Bad matches low wait times: Man this game sucks, we get rekt all the time, uninstalling.

Good matches, long wait times: Man this match was so awesome, I wish more people played this game, let's get some friends in.

Scout, you didn't even read the post: "I have no reason to believe that the standalone client has the opposite trend." See that *standalone client* ?

You got no arguments son.

Whatever floats your boat, Mirage Jenius the Shredder.

Though I know you'll be back, considering your W/L ratio and KDR Ratio from both the first Season and Second Season:
